GAINESVILLE — Gainesville took down Valley View by two touchdowns on Tuesday.

The Lady Leopards and the Lady Eagles duked it out in an offensive-heavy contest as Gainesville would hold on to win 24-12 at home.
Hannah Gerken went 4 for 5 with six RBIs for Gainesville as the Lady Leopards combined for 14 hits. Taylor Llano went 2 for 4 with four RBIs, Bari Hancock had three runs scored on three walks and Kaitlynn Romans went 3 for 4 with three runs scored.
The two teams combined for 24 walks in the contest as well as five hit by pitches.
The Lady Leopards took a 17-4 lead into the fourth inning before Valley View would strike for eight runs to cut the lead to 17-12.
A seven-run bottom of the fourth inning would give Gainesville its commanding lead back as Gerken would shut down the Lady Eagles in the top of the fifth to close the game with the run-rule.
Gainesville (4-3) will play in the Lindsay Tournament against Alvord at 11:30 a.m. Friday.
Krum 12, Lindsay 9
Elizabeth Wallace had three hits - two singles and a double - to go with four RBIs for Lindsay in a 12-9 loss to Krum at home on Tuesday.
Lindsay combined for 15 hits in the loss though it stranded a total of 10 runners on base.
Tara Atkins took the loss in a seven-strikeout effort. On offense she had two singles, a stolen base and two runs scored. Kassidy Gum had two singles, a triple and 3 RBIs.
Lindsay will play Muenster at 10 a.m. Friday at home to begin its own tournament.
