ANNA — Cole Walterscheid scored 20 points for Muenster but No. 1 state-ranked Triple-A Academy proved to be too much as the Hornets would fall 80-46 in the Region II-1A quarterfinals on Tuesday at Anna High School.
The high-powered Triple-A Academy offense took off after a close 20-15 first quarter to outscore Muenster 60-31 in the final three quarters.
Triple-A Academy will next play Munday in the Region II-1A semifinals at Moody Colliseum in Abilene.
Walterscheid connected on eight shots from the field, including a 3-pointer, before fouling out late in the game.
Hunter Klement had 10 points for Muenster. Trevor Hess and Clint Sidwell both had six points while Andy Flusche had four points.
Jeremiah Jefferson scored 31 points for Triple-A Academy. Tyler Singleton had 18 points and Gary Breaux had 12 points.
