GAINESVILLE — Gainesville senior David Moore was named the District 9-3A boys basketball Most Valuable Player by the league’s coaches recently.
Moore, who won the same honor as a junior, averaged 12.2 points, 6 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game in helping the Leopards to the Region II-3A bi-district playoffs.
Making first-team all-district were Leopards Denzel Johnson, De’Quan Wilford, Demetrius Franklin and Jonathan Mendez while Chance Sikes earned honorable mention.
Bridgeport’s Reese Read as named the Offensive Player of the Year, Decatur’s Parker Slate was the Defensive Player of the Year, Sanger’s Ryler Roelofs was the Newcomer of the Year and Sanger’s Brennan Bloom was named the Sixthman of the Year.
Earning academic all-district were Johnson, Sikes, Mendez, Ashton Neu and Devin Mims.
