SOFTBALL: Callisburg captures consolation at Swing For A Cure tourney

LINDSAY — Callisburg took the Consolation Championship at the Swing For A Cure tournament at Lindsay High School on Saturday.

The Lady Cats took down Dodd City 4-3 to capture the consolation trophy after going 2-0-1 in pool play the previous day.

In all, Callisburg beat Boyd, Byron Nelson JV and Dodd City at the tournament.

Gainesville went 0-2-1 with a tie against Tom Bean (7-7) and losses to Blue Ridge (3-2) and the Flower Mound Marcus JV (7-4).

Lindsay was 0-3 with losses to Bonham (7-2), Whitewright (15-0) and Farmersville (2-1).

Farmersville beat Whitewright 3-2 in extra innings to capture the tournament’s championship.
