FRISCO — Lindsay saw its season come to an end with a pair of losses to Trenton over the weekend.
The Lady Knights were run-ruled in the first two games of a three-game Region II-1A quarterfinal series with 20-2 and 16-3 losses to Trenton.
“We knew coming into the game that we would have to play great softball,” Lindsay coach Robin Hess said. “We were nervous, especially the first game. I was proud of how they battled back in the second game. They played hard the whole game.”
Lindsay is the second Cooke County team for Trenton to dismiss as they also did so to Muenster in the bi-district playoffs.
Hayley Skinner paced the offense in Game 1, driving both of the Lady Knights’ runs in on a double. Kassidy Gum had a run and a single and Liz Wallace had a run scored.
Wallace and Tara Atkins both had RBI doubles in Game 2. Chandler Herr scored a run and Sara Clark had an RBI single.
Atkins took the loss in the circle in both games for Lindsay. She struck out seven batters between the two games.
“We had a great group of girls this year who worked very hard,” Hess said. “We came a long way since the first day of practice.”
