BOYS BASKETBALL: Gainesville ranked No. 15 by TABC

GAINESVILLE — The season hasn’t even tipped off but the Gainesville boys basketball team is already getting respect.

The Leopards were ranked No. 15 in Class 3A by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches in a preseason poll that was released Monday.

Gainesville went 24-9 a year ago, including an 8-2 record in district play. Its two league losses were against Argyle.

Argyle is ranked No. 2 by the TABC poll. Houston Yates - which dropped down from Class 4A in the spring - is No. 1.

The Leopards return its top two leading scorers in David Moore and Denzel Johnson.
