GAINESVILLE — Ariannah Kemp had 16 points to lead Gainesville past state-ranked Sacred Heart 53-39 at home on Tuesday.
The Lady Leopards used a 14-2 run in the third quarter to scoot past the Tigerettes, who are ranked No. 2 among small private schools by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.
Kiarah Manuel and Chandler Kemp both had 10 points for the Lady Leopards (11-5). Hali Smith had eight points and Brittany Royal added six.
Gainesville scored the first 11 points in the fourth quarter to gain control for good and push the game to a double-digit lead.
Kaitlin Hesse had 13 points and 10 rebounds for Sacred Heart (10-4).
Payton Reiter added 11 points and Mikaela Bartush had six points with three steals.
Kemp was honored before the game for scoring her 1,000th career point as a Lady Leopard.
Paradise 68, Lindsay 37
Sydeny Ott scored 12 points but it wouldn’t be enough as Lindsay fell to Paradise 68-37 on Tuesday.
Lindsay’s shots wouldn’t fall in the first half as it fell into a hole quickly. The second half the Lady Knights tied Paradise 25-25.
The Lady Knights will travel to play Blum at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
Callisburg 52, S&S Consolidated 25
Callisburg opened up District 11-2A play with a 52-25 win over S&S Consolidated.
The Lady Cats will host Tom Bean at 6:15 p.m. Friday.
Era 37, Jacksboro 33
Era turned in a 37-33 win over Jacksboro at home on Tuesday.
The Lady Hornets will host Howe at 5 p.m. Friday.
