Lindsay opened up the season with a hard-fought loss to Gunter on Tuesday. The Lady Knights fell in four sets 17-25, 25-18, 23-25, 23-25 to the Lady Tigers at home.After a back-and-forth first set, Lindsay (0-1) took down Gunter 25-18 in the second set.The final two sets saw Gunter take the match with two point wins.Tara Adkins led Lindsay with 26 assists and two digs. Jalyn Anderle had 13 kills, three blocks and 10 digs; Nicole Fleitman had 22 kills, three aces, seven block and nine digs; Kimberly Page had five aces and seven digs; and Elizabeth Wallace had six kills and three blocks.Lindsay will begin the Cooke County Classic at noon today against Valley View JV and will play Bridgeport at 1 p.m. Both matches will be at Valley View High School.
Lady Leopards take two
Gainesville began the season Tuesday with a pair of wins.The Lady Leopards defeated Little Elm 25-27, 25-18, 25-23, 21-25, 15-13 before dismissing Sherman 26-24, 25-15, 25-19 in a second match in Sherman.The three teams played a round robin between each other to begin the year.Gainesville’s Kiarah Manuel, Zhanice Lane, Cayla Conway, Ariannah Kemp, Sarah Gerken, Payton Cassidy and Whytneigh Duffie all had strong outings in the Lady Leopards’ first tests of the season.
