LINDA CAROL KIDD

Services for Linda Carol Kidd, 66, of Gainesville are set for 2 p.m. Monday at Family Life Church with Pastors Larry and Kathy Eberhart of Family Life Church officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Clement-Keel Funeral Home of Gainesville.

Mrs. Kidd died May 1, 2008, at Presbyterian Hospital in Denton.

She was born Jan. 5, 1942, in Ardmore, Okla., to L.M. “Cap” and Clara (Jackson) Adams. On June 22, 1960, she married Tom Kidd in Thackerville, Okla. She was a member of the Family Life Church, she loved her church very much. She graduated from Thackerville High School. She retired from Weber Aircraft after 30 years of service. Among her many interests was going to church, her love of animals, growing flowers and collecting rocks.

Survivors include her husband of almost 48 years, Tom Kidd of Gainesville; daughter, Shawna Kidd of Lewisville; brother, Truman Adams of Thackerville, Okla.; sisters-in-law, Sharon Prestige, Carolyn Griffith, and Shelia Sewell, all of Gainesville, and Linda Christian of Valley View; brother-in-law, John Kidd of Gainesville; and mother-in-law, Lounette Kidd of Gainesville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Dwayne Kidd.

Pallbearers are Joseph Bengfort, Tony Parsons, Keith Griffith, Russell Griffith, Chad Sewell, and Marcus Sewell.

Honorary pallbearers are very special friends, Debbie Gibson and Fran Adams.

Visitation will be at the Clement-Keel Funeral Home from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

CHRISTINE PRIDDY

Services for Christine Priddy, 99, of Gainesville are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Susan White Gary officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Mrs. Priddy died May 2, 2008, at North Texas Medical Center in Gainesville.

She was born Sept. 20, 1908, in Cooke County to James Robert and Ida Davis Daniel. On July 21, 1929, she married Charles P. Priddy in Gainesville.

She graduated from Newsome Dougherty Memorial High School in Gainesville in 1926 and was a homemaker well-known for her cooking talent. She was a member of the XLI Club, the Literary Department in Gainesville, as well as the Luncheon Book Club. She was formerly active in the First Baptist Church as a teacher in the children’s department and as a member of the sanctuary choir. At her death, Christine had the longest church membership of any church member.

Survivors include: Daughter and son-in-law Priscilla and Bob White of Carrollton; daughter-in-law Marisa Priddy of Huntington Beach, Calif.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her husband on May 31, 1994; her parents; her son Charles Priddy III on June 28, 2002; and by two brothers and three sisters.

Visitation is set from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church Activities Building.

Memorial contributions may be made to the music fund or the church library of First Baptist Church of Gainesville.

EDMUNG HAAG JR.

CALLISBURG — Our beloved “Grand Doc,” as he was affectionately called by his family, passed away and entered the Lord’s Kingdom in the early morning of May 2, 2008 at his daughter’s house in Abilene, Texas.

Dr. E. L. Haag, Jr. was born July 11, 1920 to Edna Earl (Collins) Haag and Edmund Lee Haag, Sr. in Big Spring, Texas.

He attended Abilene Public Schools and graduated from Abilene High School in 1937. He graduated from Abilene Christian College in 1941 with a degree in Chemistry. Upon graduation he entered Baylor Medical School in Dallas which later became Southwestern University.

On June 19, 1943 he married Frances Lee Russom of Sherman, Texas.

He graduated from Medical School in 1944 and served his internship at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas. After completion of his internship, he entered the military and served in the Medical Corps of the Army during the occupation of Japan.

He began his long and successful medical career as a family practitioner in Hamlin and Freer, Texas. He later became a radiologist and practiced in Abilene and Gainesville, Texas. He retired from medicine in 1989.

Dr. Haag also served as an Elder at his church in Callisburg, Texas. The family requests that memorials be made to The Christian Service Center, 901 Mesquite Street, Abilene, Texas 79601 and Medina Children’s Home at 21300 State Hwy 16 N, Medina, Texas 78055-3808.

Survivors are his wife of 64 years, Frances and three children, Edmund Lee Haag, III and wife Martha Mahon Haag of the Woodlands, Debbie Haag of Midlothian, Harriett Haag of Abilene and 6 grandchildren, Scott and Leigh Ann Vadala, Samuel Price Haag and Megan Mahon Haag, Anna Lee Haag and Lezlei Ruth Haag and other family.

Visitation will be at Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro, Texas on Sunday, May 4, 2008 from 2–4 p.m. Funeral services will be at Callisburg Church of Christ on Monday, May 5, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Akers Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Hendricks Hospice and Homestead in Abilene for their compassion and professional care during his illness.

AVA MERLE KOEHLER

Services for Ava Merle Koehler, 92, of Gainesville are set for 11 a.m. Friday at Family Life Church, with the Rev. Larry Eberhart officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in Pioneer Cemetery in Graham, under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Mrs. Koehler died May 3, 2008, at North Texas Medical Center.

She was born March 17, 1916, in Jack County to Nathanel and Fannie Lee Dunlap Sockwell. On Dec. 27, 1957, she married Clayton C. Koehler.

She was an employee of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in California for 21 years, and later worked for Weber Aircraft. She resided in Gainesville since 1968 and was a member of Family Life Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Drena “Laster” Clark of Gainesville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton C. Koehler, on March 17, 1990.

Visitation is set for the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m., with no specific date mentioned.
