BETTY JO ERWIN ANDERSON
Betty Jo Erwin Anderson passed away on May 4, 2008, in Cedar Hill, TX. She was born on August 29, 1923, in Denison, Texas. When she retired after 40 years of service at the Dallas Branch of The Home Insurance Company, she and her husband moved to Lake Kiowa, Texas. She led an active life and was involved in The Woman’s Club, The Kiowa Emergency Service, and The Kiowa Ones. She was an active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Gainesville, Texas, where she belonged to the Women’s Group and The Good Shepherd Program. Her husband, Jack L. Anderson, her parents, Robert Lee and Beatrice Inman Erwin and her sister, Doris Sheeley, precede her in death. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, DeLoris and Hal Ault; sister-in-law, Edwina Anderson Hays; nephews, Larry Campbell and wife, Gayle, Robert Ault and Archie Campbell; nieces, Andrea Ault Clark and husband, J.D. and Carolyn Campbell Autry; great-nieces, April Campbell Bliss, Cristen Campbell Gray, Lauren Campbell and Darby Autry; great-nephews, Keith Campbell, Robert Ault, Kirk Kersey and Cory Willy; cousin, Jean Simmons; and several great-great nieces. Aunt Betty will be greatly missed and always remembered by all who loved her. Services will be held at Restland Memorial Park at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2008, in Abbey Chapel. Visitation with the family will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Restland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials be made to: St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, P.O. WHITESBORO — Funeral services for Jose Oscar Ramos, 67, are et for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cristo El Camino Church in Whitesboro with Rev. Debra Urbina officiating. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro. Viewing will be from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. today.
Mr. Ramos died Monday, May 5, 2008, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison.
Jose was born on Dec. 7, 1940, in Edinburg to Manuel Ramos and Narcisa Ortiz. He married Maria Teresa Vasquez in June of 1996 in Gainesville. Jose retired from the City of Whitesboro after many years of service and he attended the Cristo El Camino Church in Whitesboro.
Survivors include his wife, Maria Teresa Ramos of Whitesboro; son, Francisco Munoz of Whitesboro; daughter, Blanca Sustaita of Whitesboro; brothers, Ruben Rodriguez and Joe Rodriguez of Whitesboro; sisters, Manuela Reyes of Edinburg, Bertha Jimenez of Arkansas, Olga Gutierrez of Oklahoma, Anna Puente and Maria Elena Mendoza of Whitesboro; and two grandchildren.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.

AVA MERLE KOEHLER
Services for Ava Merle Koehler, 92, of Gainesville are set for 11 a.m. Friday at Family Life Church, with the Rev. Larry Eberhart officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in Pioneer Cemetery in Graham, under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.
Mrs. Koehler died May 3, 2008, at North Texas Medical Center in Gainesville.
She was born March 17, 1916, in Jack County to Nathan Nathaniel and Francis Lee Dunlap Sockwell. On Dec. 27, 1957, she married Clayton Koehler. She was an employee of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in California for 21 years. She moved to Gainesville in 1968 and was employed by Weber Aircraft for 15 years. She enjoyed dancing.
Survivors include her daughter, Drena Laster Clark of Gainesville; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton C. Koehler on April 17, 1990; her parents; and brother, Thomas Aldon Sockwell.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

RUSSELL ANSLEY
Memorial services for Russell “Buddy” Ansley, 76, of Mt. Vernon, Texas, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, May 9. Services will be held at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home in Gainesville, Texas.
Mr. Ansley died Thursday, May 1, 2008 in Tyler, TX.
Russell Leon Ansley was born February 24, 1932, in Frederick, Okla., to the late Leo and Bessie Ansley. He had lived in Mt. Vernon for 9 years after retiring and moving from Dallas, Texas. He served proudly in the Marine Corps during the Korean War.
Survivors include his former wife, Nana Ansley of Denton, Texas; sons, Cary Ansley of Marietta, Okla., Barry Ansley of Temple, Texas, and Robert Ansley of Howe, Texas; brother, William “Boze” Ansley of Garland, Texas; sisters, Marjorie Jones of Dallas, Texas, and Phyllis Griffin of Denton, Texas; 5 grandchildren, Jason Ansley of Roanoke, Texas, Madeline and Erin Ansley of Howe, Texas, Natalie and Rachel Ansley of Temple, Texas; and 2 great-grandchildren, Christy and Kate Ansley of Fort Worth, Texas.

De’SHAE MECHELLE WALKER
Funeral services for De’Shae Mechelle Walker, 6, of Sherman are set for 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro under the direction of the Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro.
De’Shae Mechelle Walker died April 30, 2008, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born June 12, 2001, in Denison to Duke and De’Naie Walker. She attended Hayes Primary School in Whitesboro. She previously attended Belden S. Montessori in Sherman for 3 years, where she retained high achievements. She was an avid learner who also could speak Spanish. She enjoyed all animals, dancing, drawing, coloring and making things.
Survivors include her parents, Duke and De’Naie Walker of Sherman; half-sisters, Dana Condron of Sherman and Kinsey Walker of Bells; sibling, Daxton Walker Lane of Sherman; grandparents, Albert “Bub” Kinchen of Whitesboro, Weldon and Dorla Walker of Sherman, and Monica Aleman; great-grandmother, Via Quarles, formerly of Whitesboro; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Phyllis Kinchen of Whitesboro; and a cousin.
Pallbearers are Brandon Adkins, Roy G. Bryan, Bill Corbin “Tinker”, Nathan Morales, Jaime Ramairez, Tony Prutch, Devan Gadek, and Raymond G. Corbitt.
Honorary pallbearers are Brayden Woods and Daxton Walker Lane.
CHRISTINE PRIDDY
Services for Christine Priddy, 99, of Gainesville are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Susan White Gary officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.
Mrs. Priddy died May 2, 2008, at North Texas Medical Center in Gainesville.
She was born Sept. 20, 1908, in Cooke County to James Robert and Ida Davis Daniel. On July 21, 1929, she married Charles P. Priddy in Gainesville. She graduated from Newsome Dougherty Memorial High School in Gainesville in 1926 and was a homemaker well-known for her cooking talent. She was a member of the XLI Club, the Literary Department in Gainesville, as well as the Luncheon Book Club. She was formerly active in the First Baptist Church as a teacher in the children’s department and as a member of the sanctuary choir. At her death, Christine had the longest church membership of any church member.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Priscilla and Bob White of Carrollton; daughter-in-law, Marisa Priddy of Huntington Beach, Calif.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband on May 31, 1994; parents; son, Charles Priddy III on June 28, 2002; and by two brothers and three sisters.
Visitation is set from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church Activities Building.
Memorial contributions may be made to the music fund or the church library of First Baptist Church of Gainesville.
