EDISON “ED” MONROE GARDNER

SHERWOOD SHORES — Memorial services for Edison “Ed” Monroe Gardner, 74, is set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Faith Baptist Church in Gordonville with Rev. Jim Hardwick officiating. Services are under the direction of the Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro.

Mr. Monroe died on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison.

Ed was born on May 16, 1934, in Norton, Va. He married Bonnie McNew on Sept. 12, 1998, in Halton City. He was retired from the United States Air Force and a Deacon of Faith Baptist Church in Gordonville. Ed enjoyed fishing and golfing.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie of Gordonville; sons, Tim House of Cleburne and Joe Freeman of Norton, Va.; two daughters, Angela Barron of Venus and Julie Baker of Sherwood Shores; seven grandchildren; sister, Shirley Bolling of Wise, Va.; and brother, Kyle Gardner of Wise, Va.

CONNIE SUE DAVIS

Graveside services for Connie Sue Davis, 48, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Sandusky with Rev. Rick Carney officiating. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro.

Ms. Davis died August 10, 2008, in Fargo, N.D.

She was born in Henderson County on Nov. 17, 1959, to Charles V. and Trellis I (Fleming) Riddle. She lived in Texas most of her life up until the year 2000 when she moved to North Dakota. She married Jacky Davis in September 1985 in Gordonville. He died in 1993. She enjoyed the outdoors, the sunshine, going to the lake and working in the yard.

Survivors include her sons, Jason V. Davis, A.J. Davis and David M. Davis, all of Fargo, N.D.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Patsy and Buddy Deal of Whitesboro, Cathy and Patrick Malone of Van Alstyne, Kathy Jo and Larry Walters of Chatt, Tenn., Jackie and Don Ritzchke of Denton; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Riddle; mother, Trellis Kline; step-mother, Ruby Riddle; brothers, Michael Riddle and Randy Riddle; and husband, Jack Davis.

REA ANN COX

SADLER — Funeral services for Rea Ann Cox, 42, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Mike Flanagan officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cox died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, as the result of a motorcycle accident.

She was born on May 5, 1966, in Silver City, N.M., to William and Oretha (Turpen) Sullivan. She married Vince Cox on May 5, 1993, in Whitesboro. She was employed by Landmark Bank in Madill, Okla. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Whitesboro. She enjoyed reading, animals and riding Harleys. Rea Ann was also the former secretary/treasurer of ABATE-Texoma Chapter.

Survivors include her husband, Vince Cox of Sadler; son, Colton Lee Cox of Sadler; daughter, Caitlin Nicole Cox of Sadler; in-laws, Leldon and Barbara Cox of Bonham; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; William and Oretha Sullivan.

HARVEY M. “TIM” MOONEY III

Visitation for Harvey M. “Tim” Mooney III, 66, of Gainesville is set from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at 217 E. 4th Street in Lindsay. Arrangements are under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Mr. Mooney died Aug. 8, 2008, at North Texas Medical Center in Gainesville.

He was born July 22, 1942, in Bridgeport to Mary Jo Hopson Mooney and H.M. Mooney Jr. He was a graduate of Decatur High School and was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church in Decatur. Tim enjoyed his family and friends, training pets, writing poetry, wood carving, trading at flea markets and playing dominoes at Stanford House Senior Citizens Center.

Survivors include his daughter, Mindy Mooney of Saginaw; brothers and sister-in-law, Dudley Mooney of Santo and Mart and Linda Mooney of Decatur; sisters and brothers-in-law, Laura Hubbard of Alvord, Mary and Arvel Hubbard of Decatur, Nell Hess of Lindsay, Dana Elliott of Lindsay, Meradith and Les Smith of Ophir, Colo., Virginia “Gin” and Larry Henry of Gainesville, and Molly and Glenn Crawshaw of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jandy K. Mooney; and brother, Michael Mooney.

Honorary pallbearer is James Lopez.
