TOMMY LAMAR CARR
MULDROW, Okla. — Services for Tommy Lamar Carr, 71, of Muldrow, Okla., formerly of Gainesville, are set for 2 p.m. today at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Wright and Chaplain Sam Spence officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home of Gainesville.
Mr. Carr died Aug. 22, 2008, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 29, 1936 in Gainesville to Yerbie Benton and Annie Mae Clark Carr. On April 30, 1955 he married Glenda Liedtke. Tommy attended Gainesville public schools and loved and was active in all sports. One of his great loves was race horses and he was an accomplished trainer for over 40 years. He still loved and enjoyed watching his horse until the time of his death.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Glenda Carr of Muldrow, Okla.; daughters, Patti Reed of Gainesville; Vicki Pipes of Denton; sons, Doug Carr; and Tommy Glen Carr, both of Muldrow, Okla; grandchildren, Tonya Townley and her husband, Jeremy; great-grandchildren, Jase and Bryce Townley of Gainesville; grandchild, Tracy Holman and children, Crislyn and Trinity of Gainesville; grandchild, Tammi Ford and her husband, Michael of Denton and children, Madalyn, Mason and Braedon; grandchild, Carla Dennis and her husband, Danny and children, Karlee and Haylee of Denton; grandsons, Joel Alan Proctor of Tahlequah, Okla., and Kale Thomas Carr of Jones, Okla.; several cousins, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by brother, Rodger (Spunky) Carr and his wife, Jean; sister-in-law, Joan Fife of Pittsburg, Okla.; brothers-in-law, Ronald Liedtke and his wife, Jan of Tyler and Donald Liedtke and his wife, Robyn of Dallas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Y.G. (Jiggs) Carr and Randy (Hoot) Carr.
Pallbearers are Chris Rogers, Herbie Locke, Harvey Kitchens, Doug Gaston, George Morgan and Doug Mitchell.
Honorary pallbearers are Hubert Blankenship, Bill Dale, Tom Callen, Jack Palmer, Eddie Rutherford, Robert Dimitt and Ken Kelly.

ALEJANDRO GONZALES
Services for Alejandro Gonzales, 81, of Gainesville are set for 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Don Brennan, O.S.A., officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home of Gainesville.
Mr. Gonzales died Aug. 23, 2008, at his residence.
He was born May 5, 1927, in Houston to Evaristo and Bernada Gonzales. On Aug. 4, 1945, he married Herminia Mendez. He was a retired employee of the City of Gainesville.
Survivors include his 14 children; 56 grandchildren; and 140 great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Herminia Gonzales on May 1, 2007; and by a granddaughter.

JOHNNIE O. McGILVRAY
Graveside service for Johnnie O. McGilvray, 83, of Gainesville is set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at New Hope Cemetery with Rev. Cary Way of Cross Roads Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery under the direction of the Clement-Keel Funeral Home.
Mr. McGilvray died Aug. 25, 2008, at Pecan Tree Manor.
He was born Feb. 6, 1925, in Gainesville to Clyde and Zulie (King) McGilvray. He was a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church. He had worked for the Gainesville Independent School District for many years as a janitor and also at the Cooke County College, where he retired.
He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Fred, Ocus, Virgil, Carl and James McGilvray; and sisters, Erma McGilvray, Lula Edwards, Ruby Bond, Ina Allen and Bessie Huey.
No visitation is planned.

MARGARET MARSHALL
ARLINGTON — Services for Margaret Marshall, 84, of Arlington are set for 3 p.m. Tuesday at Fairview Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. John Hare, pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Gainesville. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home of Gainesville.
Mrs. Marshall died Aug. 25, 2008, in Arlington.
She was born May 6, 1924, in Warren, Penn., to Guy and Sara Crooks Johnson. On May 2, 1947, she married William D. Marshall in Fort Worth. She graduated from Rush Presbyterian-Columbia University School of Nursing in 1945. She accepted the position of clinic nurse at Texas Christian University. She later became director of the Planned Parenthood Facility in Fort Worth. She accompanied her husband to Chicago when his job dictated and she became the United Fund director in Park Ridge, Ill. Following that, she became director of volunteer services at the Rush North Shore Hospital. She was the first woman member of the Skokie, Ill., Rotary Club.
Survivors include her sons, Peter Marshall of Barrington, Ill., and Guy Marshall of Fort Worth; and daughter, Joan Bennett of Arlington; five grandchildren; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Barbara Marshall of Gainesville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William David Marshall on Oct. 31, 1989; an infant brother; sister, Vera Phililps; and her parents.

MARTHA PRESCHER HACKER
Services for Martha Prescher Hacker, 82, of Gainesville are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John’s Catholic Church in Valley View with Rev. Msgr. Charles B. King officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home of Gainesville.
Mrs. Hacker died Aug. 25, 2008, at Renaissance Care Center in Gainesville.
She was born July 28, 1926, in Scotland, Texas, to Joseph and Anna Streng Prescher. She was an avid quilter and traveler. She was a retired employee of the Denton State School.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Robin Hacker, Alfred and Barbara Hacker, and Herbie and Jan Hacker, all of Valley View; daughters and son-in-law, Lela and Don Garner of Lewisville, Linda Geiger of Gainesville and Lesa Hacker of Denton; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Angeline Steadham of Richardson and Christiana Sicking of Hampton, Ark.; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Alphonse, Frank, Paul, Peter, John, Jacob, Joseph Jr., Felix and Leo Prescher; and sisters, Elizabeth Krahl, Agatha Mayes and Lucy Oehler.
Pallbearers are Michael, Glen and Anthony Hacker, J.D. Luttmer, James Geiger and Michael Garner.
The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Chapel, followed by a visitation.

GEORGE W. GILBREATH
Graveside services for George W. Gilbreath, 52, of Gainesville are set for 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25 at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Huffman officiating. Masonic rites will be conducted by the Gainesville Lodge #210, AF AM.
Mr. Gilbreath died August 22, 2008 at his residence.
He was born Dec. 27, 1955 in Gainesville to George C. and Anna Jean Foster Gilbreath.
He graduated from Gainesville High School and was a self-employed electrician. He was a member of Gainesville Lodge #210 AF AM and was a member of a Baptist church.
Survivors include his parents, George and Anna Jean Gilbreath of Gainesville; daughter, Jori Gilbreath of Gainesville; and son, Jordan Gilbreath of Gainesville.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Sheila Gail.
