JERRY THEOBALD

Funeral services for Jerry Theobald, 65, of Gainesville are pending with the Geo. J. Carroll and Son Funeral Home.



FRANKIE DALE CANTRELL

MARIETTA, Okla. — Services for Frankie Dale Cantrell, 30, of Marietta, Okla. will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009 in Marietta’s First Baptist Church with Rev. Don Keizor officiating.

Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville. Services are under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Marietta.

Mr. Cantrell passed away Saturday, Oct. 24, in Mason.

Born July 8, 1979 in Muenster, the son of Freddie Lee and Barbara Thomas Cantrell, Mr. Cantrell had been a resident of Love County for the past four years, previously making his home in Gainesville. A 1999 graduate of Thackerville High School, he worked as a heavy equipment operator. Mr. Cantrell and Ashley Dawn Hartman were married in Love County on Feb. 29, 2008. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting and coaching his son, Levi’s peewee football team as well as baseball. He was also very involved with his other two sons, Chris and Cody, getting ready for football and baseball, in addition to helping his daughters, Morgan and Bailee, with softball.

Survivors include his wife, Ashley Cantrell of the home in Marietta; mother and stepfather, Barbara and Tony Ortega of Gainesville; paternal grandfather, Freddie Cantrell of Gainesville; parents who raised him, Johnny and Diane Perry of Callisburg; three sons, Chris Cole, Cody Cole and Levi Hartman, all of the home; two daughters, Morgan Cantrell and Bailee Gray, also of the home; four brothers, Alex Cantrell of Whitesboro, Jamie Cantrell and Bradley Ortega of Gainesville and Antonio Ortega III of Woodbine and a sister, Sheila Ortega, also of Gainesville.

Preceding him in death were his father and paternal grandmother, Bonnie Cantrell.

Serving as bearers will be Coach Glennis Ring, Adam Craft, Jeremy Shelby, Cameron Wilson, Jeremiah Vinson and Dominic DiMayo.

Honorary bearers are players on the Marietta 3rd and 4th grade gold football team.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. this evening, Oct. 28, 2009 at Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.

AUDREY E. OLIPHANT

Funeral services for Audrey E. Oliphant, 90, of Gainesville are pending with Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.

Mrs. Oliphant died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009 at Pecan Tree Health and Rehabilitation in Gainesville.

COLLINSVILLE – Funeral services for Emma Lou Light, 90, of Collinsville will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, 2009 at the Collinsville Church of Christ in Collinsville with Olden Cook officiating.

Interment will follow in Collinsville Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro.

Emma passed away on Monday, Oct. 26, 2009 at her daughter’s home in Southmayd.

Survivors include her sons, Bill Light of Collinsville, Randy Light of Sherman and Carey Light of Sadler; daughter, Cathy Ricks of Southmayd and sisters, Lavelle Gaddis of California and Janelle Shepard of Southerton, Ore.

Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009 at the funeral home.

COLLIN JOSEPH BAIRD

FORT WORTH — Collin Joseph Baird, 12, went on to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29 at Holy Family Catholic Church.

Interment will be at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Biggers Funeral Home of Fort Worth.

Born Nov. 14, 1996 in Dallas, Collin was the child of Randy and Stephanie Baird. He was in the seventh grade at Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts. Collin enjoyed life to the fullest. He was a member of the Texas Boys Choir, played classical guitar and enjoyed the stage. He had performed for the last three years as Zarah in "The Littlest Wiseman." Collin was an active member of the youth group at Holy Family Catholic Church and also a representative to the Diocesan Youth Council. Collin had an infectious smile and was a friend to everyone he met. He saw the good in others.

His family would like to thank the PICU/ECMO team of Cook Children's Medical Center.

Survivors include his parents; sisters, Randi, Sharla, Alexandra, Katelyn and Erin; brother, Ian; grandparents, Nathan and Vicky Newton and Evan and Raymona Kirkpatrick; great-grandmother, Granny Marjorie Barnett; godmother, Jane Fraser and many friends.

Collin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard and Charlotte Baird and godfather, Don Fraser.

Visitation will begin with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. this evening, Oct. 28, 2009 at Biggers Funeral Home with the family receiving friends afterwards.

Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Collin Baird Medical Fund at any Wells Fargo Bank branch.



ANTHONY F. “DUDE” GREWING, SR.

MUENSTER – Funeral services for Anthony F. “Dude” Grewing, Sr., 64, of Muenster are set for 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30, 2009 at Sacred Heart Church in Muenster. Fr. Ken Robinson will officiate.

Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Services are under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home in Muenster.

Mr. Grewing died Monday, Oct. 26, 2009 at Denton Regional Medical Center in Denton.

Survivors include his daughters, Julie Ann Walterscheid, Tammy Sue Brown and Shawna Marie Herr; sons, Anthony “Tony” Grewing, Jr., Jonathan A. Grewing, Kenneth N. Grewing, and Matthew C. Grewing and siblings, Angie Barnhill and Herman Grewing.

Rosary/Vigil is set for 6 p.m. Thursday Oct. 29, 2009 at the funeral home.
