AUDREY ELIZABETH OLIPHANT

Funeral services for Audrey Elizabeth Oliphant, 90, of Gainesville will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009 in the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel in Marietta, Okla. with Pastor Arnold Claussen officiating.

Interment will follow in the Jimtown Cemetery in Jimtown, Okla. Services are under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Mrs. Oliphant died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009 at Pecan Tree Health and Rehabilitation in Gainesville.

Survivors include her sons, James W. Oliphant of Thackerville, Okla. and Edward Byron Oliphant of Gainesville; daughters, Ellen Wade of Newcastle, Okla., Virginia Bruce and Dorothy Cross of Marietta, Okla. and Marie Garrison of Gainesville; brothers, Paul Powell of Erie, Pa., Billie John Powell of Fort Worth and Tommy Powell of California and sisters, Betty Shugart of Gainesville and Jean Caldwell of Denton.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. this evening, Oct. 30, 2009 at Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.

HENRY “SAM” WARD, JR.

Funeral services for Henry “Sam” Ward, Jr., 54, of Gainesville, are set for 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Isham and Rev. Kaji Price officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Mr. Ward died on Oct. 28, 2009 at the Presbyterian Hospital in Denton.

He is survived by his son, Robert Ward of Midway; son, Steven Ward of Illinois; daughter, Susan Sailer of Gainesville; sister, Frances Lynch of Lubbock; brother, Denver Ward of Lubbock; sister, Pauline McCormick of Floydada; sister, Johnnie Coleman of Denton; brother, Bill Taylor of Hugo, Okla.; brother, Donald Taylor of Hugo, Okla.; sister, Peggy Stewart of Lubbock; sister, Alma Moore of Wylie and brother, William Laine of Myra.

A visitation will be held from 7-8 p.m. this evening, Oct. 30, 2009 at the funeral home.

LANNY KELLEY

ERA — Funeral services for Lanny Kelley, 60, of Era, are set for 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009 at the Prairie Point Nazarene Church with Pastor Ron Minor officiating.

Burial will follow the service in the Rosston Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Lanny passed away Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009 in Denton.

Lanny Ray Kelley was born Sept. 2, 1949 in Gainesville to Ray and Estelle Brown Kelley.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Raeetta and Scott DeYoung of Justin; daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Larry Jones of Quinlan; son, Michael Black of Salt Lake City, Utah; sisters, Bobbie Amis of Era and Monda Kelsey of Sanger and a brother, Raymon "Buck" Kelley of Rosston. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Scott Kelley, Korey Jones, Trever Jones, Jordan Black, John Black, Samantha Black, Faith Black, and Alex Black.

Lanny was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jerry Dale Kelley.

Pallbearers will be Cody Daniel, Curry Daniel, Clay Pace, Raymond Kelley, Trever Jones and Nick Muller.

Honorary pallbearer will be Kevin Daniel.

A visitation will be held from 7-8 p.m. this evening, Oct. 30, 2009 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the American Heart Association, the American Lung Association or Camp Sweeney.

JUDITH KAYE SKINNER

PILOT POINT — A funeral service for Judith Kaye Skinner, 66 of Pilot Point will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, 2009 at Calvary Baptist Church in Pilot Point with Rev. Luther Slay officiating.

Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville. Services are under the direction of Huff/Slay Funeral Home of Pilot Point.

Judith Kaye Skinner passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009 in Denton.

She was born on May 31, 1943 in Gainesville to Harvey and Alma (Proffer) Woolfolk. She was a graduate of Gainesville High School, Cooke County College (NCTC) and North Texas State University (UNT). She married W.O. “Buddy” Skinner on May 30, 1964 in Gainesville. Buddy was formerly the Postmaster in Pilot Point. She founded the first lending library at Pilot Point Elementary School and served as a volunteer at the Pilot Point Public Library. She loved to travel.

She is survived by her husband, Buddy Skinner of Pilot Point; mother, Alma Dills of Gainesville; one brother, Charles Woolfolk of Gainesville and one sister, Carol French of Blountsville, Ala., as well as several nieces and nephews.





EMMA LOU LIGHT

COLLINSVILLE – Funeral services for Emma Lou Light, 90, of Collinsville will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, 2009 at the Collinsville Church of Christ in Collinsville with Olden Cook officiating.

Interment will follow in Collinsville Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro.

Emma passed away on Monday, Oct. 26, 2009 at her daughter’s home in Southmayd.

Survivors include her sons, Bill Light of Collinsville, Randy Light of Sherman and Carey Light of Sadler; daughter, Cathy Ricks of Southmayd and sisters, Lavelle Gaddis of California and Janelle Shepard of Southerton, Ore.

Visitation was last night, Oct. 29, from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
