McKINLEY DALE

SHASTEEN

Dale Shasteen went home to the Lord on November 12, 2008 after a long battle with cancer.

He was born on June 1, 1951 to Norman and Janie Shasteen. Dale was a real estate broker and real estate instructor for many years. He was a wonderful husband and father to Valerie, Matt and Emily. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Dale has been a member of First Baptist Church, Coppell, Texas, for 25 years and he loved the Lord with all of his heart.

Survivors are his wife, Valerie; son Matthew; daughter Emily; parents Norman and Janie Shasteen; brother Mark; and sisters Nancy and Rhonda.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.

JULIA ALLEN

Graveside services for Julia Allen, 90, are set for 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17 at Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Tommy Higle of First Baptist Church, Marietta, Okla. officiating. Services are under the direction of Clement-Keel Funeral Home.

Mrs. Allen died Nov. 14, 2008 at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth.

She was born March 30, 1918 in Delaware, Okla. to Richard and Clara (Marissette) Paris. On Feb. 12, 1938, she married James Comer Allen in Gainesville.

She was a member of the Hospital Auxilliary for over 25 years where she served as a Pink Lady at NTMC in Gainesville.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Clarence Kittrell of Gainesville, sister, Angie Thomas of Abilene, brother-in-law, Robert Alagood of Denton; three grandchildren, Shauna Reed, Jim Moore and Kimberly Dane; five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, one niece, Pam Cotton and one nephew, Richard Alagood.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Allen on July 21, 1984 and her sister, Margaret Alagood.

Visitation is planned for 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon at Clement-Keel Funeral Home.

Services for Marie Susan Sadlowski of Valley View are pending with Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

MARGARET L. BLOUNT

Funeral services for Margaret L. Blount, 80, of Gainesville, are set for Monday, Nov. 17, 2008 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Chapel with the Reverends David Dunson and Denny Hook officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.

Mrs. Blount passed away Thurday, November 13, 2008 in Gainesville.

She was born June 16, 1928 in Floydada to Ira and Luskie Cooper Bartlett. She married Jim Blount Feb. 1, 1948 in Hood.

Survivors include her husband Jim Blount of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law Marsha and Malcolm Rasure of McKinney; son and daughter-in-law Ronny and Suzen Blount of Gainesville; daughter Janice Johnson of Gainesville; son Deryl Blount and special friend Andrew Besterman of Dallas; grandchildren: Michelle and her husband Damion Lee of Sanger, Jeff Rasure of Sanger, Jacob and his wife McKenzie Blount of Gainesville, and Cicily Johnson of Gainesville. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Jarrett Rasure, Maddie and Ashlyn Lee, and Trent Blount; sister and brother-in-law Mabel and Bill Jeter of Gainesville.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Aubrey Bartlett, and her niece Jackquie Zanti.

Pallbearers are Jeff Rasure, Jacob Blount, Brent Jeter, Damion Lee, Andrew Besterman, and Gary Johnson.

Visitation is set for 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Home Hospice of Cooke County and The Hood Cemetery Fund.

MILDRED RAINS

MARIETTA, Okla. - Services for Mildred Rains, 77, of Marietta, Okla. are set for 10 a.m. Monday in the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. John Hollar, Bro. Jerry Turner and Rev. Dan Gaither officiating.

Mrs. Rains was born Nov. 13, 1930, in Gainesville, the daughter of L.C. and Minnie Mae Youngblood McBride. She passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2008, in Mercy Memorial Health Center, Ardmore, OK.

A resident of Love County all of her life, Mrs. Rains was a homemaker who had a special love for children and enjoyed caring for them.

She also enjoyed gardening and was known for having a “green thumb,”

Other hobbies included working crossword puzzles and attending sporting events to watch her grandchildren participate. Mrs. Rains was a member of the Rose Assembly Church in Marietta. She and M.C. Rains, Jr. were married on Dec. 12, 1946.

Mrs. Rains was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bill Beavers; a daughter, Linda Cross; a granddaughter, Deonna Hilton; and a sister, Betty Jo McBride.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Shelly Rains of Lindsay, three daughters and sons-in-law, Gayle and Paul Riley and Donna and Charlie Hilton of Marietta and Barbara and Mike Diggs of Okmulgee, Okla; a brother and sister-in-law, W.J. “Dub” and Erline McBride of Saint Jo, four sisters and brothers-in-law, Leota and Rusty Clark of Whitesboro, Murl Johnson of Tulsa, Okla., Pearl and Johnny Ingram of Temple, , and Alice Aman of Kennewick, Wash; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Serving as casket bearers will be Denny Moore, Ronnie Hilton, Roy Henderson, Weldon Cross, Gary Rains and Bill Flanagan. Honorary bearers will be grandchildren, Dewayne Riley, J.T. Riley, Brent Hilton, Michael Hilton, Kimberly Sutich, Neisha Diggs, Phillip Diggs, Lindsey Diggs, Kiara Diggs, Caleb Rains, Colton Rains, Cayden Rains and Greg Cross.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.
