JUDITH MARIE “JUDY” BOREN

WHITESBORO – Funeral services for Judith Marie “Judy” Boren, 70, of Whitesboro will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July, 3, 2009 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. James Varner and Rev. Albert Harris officiating.

Interment will follow in Macomb Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home.

Judy passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at Integrity Transitional Hospital in Denton.

She was born on March 29, 1939 in Denison to Owen Lee Cassell and Helen (Fusch) Cassell. Judy married H.P. Boren on Dec. 2, 1960 in Whitesboro. She was an avid bird watcher and she enjoyed fun and memorable shopping excursions with friends and family. Judy was the matriarch of her family and influential in the lives of all those closest to her. Even though her health had declined over the years, her mind and spirit remained vibrant. She enjoyed organizing and participating in family gatherings, bringing and keeping her family close together. She was the catalyst in creating a special bond among her family. She dearly loved her family and friends and that love was returned by all. She will be greatly missed and leaves behind a void within our lives. Her memory and love shall remain forever deeply embedded within our hearts.

She faithfully fulfilled her duties as a military wife and she assumed the role as both mother and father during her husbands’ tours of duty. Judy accompanied her husband overseas and in the United States during his military career.

Survivors include her husband, H.P. Boren of Whitesboro; two sons, Mark Boren and wife Debra of Sadler and Norman Boren and wife Sharon of Sadler; three daughters, Mary Beth Stout and husband Clifford of Arlington, Cynthia Boren of Southmayd, and Vickie Hellman and husband Jeff of Lindsay; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and three brothers, James Lee Cassell of Denison, Billy Joe Cassell of Savoy, and Harold Davey Cassell of Pine Bluff, Ark.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, George Cassell and a grandson, Vinnie Land.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

ODA FAY JOHNSON PARKS

LINDSAY — Memorial services for Oda Fay Johnson Parks, 88, of Lindsay is set for 10 a.m. Friday, July 3, 2009 at the McCoy Funeral Chapel in Saint Jo. Rev. Larry Eberhart, pastor of the Family Life Church in Gainesville will officiate.

Family night will be this evening, July 2, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home in Saint Jo.

Oda's death at her home was pronounced at 11:25 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2009.

Born Dec. 30, 1920, the daughter of Lynn and Verdie Hall Johnson, Oda grew up in times of hard work. She married Thomas Albert Parks on March 4, 1941 in Marietta, Okla. They had lived in Saint Jo some 40 years. They also lived in Abilene for some time, between their having lived in Saint Jo. They moved from Saint Jo to Lindsay in 1984 where she has since lived. Thomas died in 1990.

At the age of 88, Oda was still using a wheel barrel to move sand and continued to mow, trim hedges, keep weeds out of her flower bed and anything else that needed to be done tending her yard. If she wasn't outside working, she was inside doing home improvement projects or sorting through decades of pictures. She was a camera buff.

Oda was an excellent seamstress and loved to go to craft shows to acquire new ideas. Her favorite time of year was Christmas. She could turn a package into a work of art with her talent for wrapping. She loved the holiday lights and smells. If you were on her gift giving list, you were blessed with a Christmas tin filled with homemade fudge.

Oda showed the love of Christ by action, always lending a hand to those less fortunate. She made sure to visit the widows and tend to their needs. Her life long best friends were her mother, Verdie until her death in 1967 and Mrs. Tommie Molder of Saint Jo. Her son, Dave and daughter-in-law, Susan and the grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. The newest pictures of them were always passed around for all to see, followed by a story telling of the event.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, David and Susan Parks of Dallas; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and sister, Mina Lee Montgomery of Gainesville.

Preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Albert Parks, Jr.; brother, Cloice Gene Johnson and parents, Lynn and Verdie Johnson.

In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Saint Jo Fire Department or Saint Jo Library.

WILLARD RAY GRANTHAM

Memorial services for Willard Ray Grantham, 55, of Marietta, Okla. are set from 2-3:30 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2009 at Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel in Marietta, Okla.

Mr. Grantham died June 22, 2009 at his residence in Marietta, Okla.

Survivors include his daughter, Amy Darnell of Marietta, Okla. and two brothers, Raymond “Buddy” Grantham and Wayne Grantham, both of Artesia, N.M.





DEAN EIKMAN

SHERMAN — Graveside services for Dean Eikman, 59, of Sherman are set for 10 a.m. Friday, July 3, 2009 at Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville with Rev. Darrell McIntyre of Westminister Presbyterian Church in Gainesville officiating. Services are under the direction of Clement-Keel Funeral Home in Gainesville.

Mr. Eikman died Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at his residence.

Survivors include his daughter, Mandi Kyles of Oklahoma City, Okla.; mother, Wanda Eikman of Gainesville; sister and brother-in-law, Cindy and Kenny Rohmer of Muenster and several nieces, aunts and uncles.

A visitation has not been planned.







SHARON LEE WAGGONER

Funeral services for Sharon Lee Waggoner, 69, of Gainesville are set for Friday July 3, 2009 at 10 a.m. in the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Chapel with Craig Waggoner officiating.

Burial will be in the Valley View Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Mrs. Waggoner passed away on June 29, 2009 at her home with her husband by her side.

Sharon was born on July 3, 1939 in Colorado. She married Bill Waggoner on Feb. 14, 1959 and recently they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Sharon was an avid quilter and won many awards for her beautiful quilts. She was a member of the Common Threads Quilt Guild. She donated many quilts for local charities and events.

Sharon was a loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family and she was involved in every aspect of her children's lives growing up.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Waggoner of Gainesville; a son and daughter-in-law, George and Sheila Waggoner of Conroe; a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Louis Peter of Cedar Lane and grandchildren, Randall and Rachel Waggoner and Kay and Becky Peter.

Sharon was preceded in death by her mother, Vivian Luchak and a sister, Julia Jerkins.

The family would like to thank the numerous caregivers who assisted her in her year long courageous battle with cancer. We would also like to thank her family and friends for their support.

Visitation will be held this evening, July 2, from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
