JAMES THELBERT POLLARD

James Thelbert Pollard, Jr, 77, born Aug. 3, 1936 to James and Emma Choplin Pollard in Raleigh, N.C., passed away on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at North Texas Medical Center in Gainesville.

A graveside service was held at Roselawn Memorial Park on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at 2 p.m.

James retired after spending a large part of his life serving our country in the United States Air Force. He also retired from his second career with The Dallas Morning News.  James was a very competitive person in all that he did, including golf and poker.  He will be missed by all his family, friends and his two dogs, Belle and Susie, which he dearly loved.

James is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Geri Pollard; two daughters, Kim France and Sandy Ridingson; one son, Brad Pollard; two stepsons, Michael Bitsche and Mark Bitsche; one stepdaughter, Chris Lunsford; a sister, Emma Neal Medlin and J.D.; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

FLORENCE FRANK GRIZZAFFI

Florence Frank Grizzaffi, 89, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013 after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Hammond, La.

Florence was preceded in death by her husband John Michael Grizzaffi.

She was active in the Catholic Church, and participated in many volunteer efforts her entire life.

Survivors included her son Luke Michael Grizzaffi and his wife Margaret; son, John Anthony Grizzaffi and his wife, Jerilyn; five grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Florence had a special connection to family in Shreveport, La. She was considered their matriarch. Florence had the ability to make friends of all ages, and mentored many who were always welcome in her home.

The family will have a private graveside service officiated by the Rev. Ken Robinson.

Pallbearers are Luke Mark Grizzaffi, Bryan Roppolo, Nick Roppolo, Philip Roppolo, Dan Swannon, and Sam Turnebe.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorials can be sent to the James Bruner TK Ranch, P.O. Box 879, Bowie, Texas 76230, or Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 714 N. Main, Muenster, Texas 76252.
