TOMMY DON MOODY
SANGER — A memorial visitation for Tommy Don Moody, 67, of Sanger, is set for 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.
A private burial will follow at a later date under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.
Don was born in Gainesville to Henry Herbert and Ruby Irene Hudspeth Moody on April 22, 1945.
He passed away in Sanger on Jan. 3, 2013.
Don graduated froms Valley View High School in 1963, and Texas Tech University with a bachelor of science degree in range management in 1968. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He married Barbara Kay Harp on May 7, 1983, in Gainesville. Don was an avid hunter and wildlife conservationist. He was a life member of the NRA. He was the 2003 pin designer for Ducks Unlimited, and won the 1996 Ducks Unlimited Conservation Service Award. In 1993, he received his 20 year Voluntary Service Award with the Texas Hunters Education Program. He was an official scorer for Boone and Crockett and submitted the winning name for their newsletter, Fair Chase.
He is survived by his wife, Kay (Harp) Moody of Sanger; daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Mark Pethtel of Sanger; son and partner, Scott Shampine and Fred Kapa of Austin; grandchildren, Lauren Pethtel and Wheeler Pethtel of Sanger; and sister and brother-in-law, LouAnn (Moody) Gillum and Don Gillum of Sanger. He is also survived by nieces and nephews Wendy Moser Linnell, Richard Moser, Jeffrey Gillum, Jason Gillum and Debra Gillum Graham.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

MARY CATHERINE BRUCE PAINTER
Mary Catherine Bruce Painter passed away, on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, in Denton.
She was born on April 1, 1930, to Ernest and Freddie Mae Bruce in Denton.
She was a graduate of North Texas Demonstration School in 1948. She worked at Woolworth's Department store as a young woman in Denton and in Houston and a choir member for First Methodist Church of Houston. Mary was residing with her daughter Sheryl in Gainesville until her passing.
She married Jerry Painter of Nocona on Aug. 23, 1952, in Denton at Highland Baptist Church.
Mary lived in Lovington, N.M., and Clovis, N.M., where she was a loving wife and mother. Mary enjoyed taking care of her family and doing church ministry. She was a choir member at Central Baptist Church in Clovis, N.M. and was in every Christmas Cantata and she had a beautiful voice. She taught young children Sunday School for many years.
Services were held in Nocona at Bethel Baptist Church on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, officiated by nephew Jerry Paul Smith of Clifton under the direction of Jerry Woods Funeral Home.
Burial was in the Nocona Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; her parents; and siblings, Juanita Searfoss of Cortland, N.Y., Wallace Bruce of Fort Worth, Peggy Sanford, Joe Bob and Frank of Denton and Curtis Bruce of Goldboro, N.C.
She is survived by daughters Sheryl Miller and Danny of Gainesville, Teri Hoyt and Wayne of Montgomery, Ala., and son, James Painter of Nocona; her brother, Fred Bruce of Hilltop Lakes, and Carolyn Branch of Denton; and grandchildren, Dana McLerran, Denae Cose, Daneille Miller, Morgan Leigh, Taylor, and Austin Hoyt and Jasmine Painter; and great-grandsons, Carson and Caden McLerran and Ethan Cose.
Pallbearers were family members Taylor and Austin Hoyt, Bryan Cose, Chad McLerran, Craig Johnson and Andrew Fenoglio.
HENRY MEEK
Funeral services for Henry Meek, 47, of Gainesville, are set for 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at Meador-Clement-Keel Chapel.
Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Meador-Clement-Keel Funeral Home.
Mr. Meek died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at North Texas Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 24, 1965, in Gainesville.
Survivors include children, Travis Johnson, Ashley McGehee and Samantha Singletary of Gainesville, and Timothy Meek and Holly Meek of Bullhead City, Ariz., Rachel Basham and Jodi Redman of Missouri and Jessica Brawdy of Krum; mother, Wanda Skill of Krum; siblings, Darrell Meek, Herbert Eugene Meek and Tina Harrel of Gainesville, Michael Harris of Denton, Pamela Thompson of Coppell and Michele Brawdy of Krum; and six grandchildren.

PATSY ELLIS WALTER
MUENSTER — Funeral services for Patsy Ellis Walter, 55, of Muenster are set for 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Ken Robinson officiating.
Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home of Muenster.
Mrs. Walter died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Presbyterian Hospital of Denton.
She was born Nov. 14, 1957, in Fort Worth.
Survivors include husband, Chris J. Walter of Muenster; children, Michelle Bednorz, Jennifer Clark, Mike Walter, Trevor Walter, Mark Dale Robison and Don Lynn Robison; mother, Mary Frances Abernathy; siblings, Mary Ruth Blakely, Emma Louise Galbreath, Rodger Dale Ellis and Kenneth Ray Ellis; and five grandchildren.
