GARY HOWSER

WHITESBORO — Memorial services for Gary Howser, 69, of Whitesboro, are set for 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at 301 Parker Lane in Whitesboro.

Mr. Howser died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2012, in Whitesboro.

He was born Dec. 24, 1942, in Dexter.

Survivors include his wife, Annie Howser of Whitesboro; children, Julie Land and Shalana Howard; parents, Lloyd and Doris Howser; brother, Jim Howser; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

WELDON LAVONNE REID

MUENSTER — Weldon Lavonne Reid, 77, of Muenster, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at Renaissance Care Center.

Funeral services for Mr. Reid will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at Meador-Clement-Keel Chapel with the Rev. Bill Black, pastor of Grand Avenue Baptist Church, officiating.  

Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery.  

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Joey Martin, Nathan Sandmann, Greg Russell, Shane Kennedy, William Harrell, Nicholas Yosten and Nathan Chatterley, and nephew, Danny Fellers. John Yosten, John Walterscheid and Rick Stewart will serve as honorary bearers.  

No visitation is planned.

Weldon was born in Saint Jo on Oct. 10, 1935, the son of Barney and Hattie Mae (Blodgett) Reid.    

He married Peggy Jo Clark on Jan. 22, 1955, in Gainesville. Mr. Reid worked for Cooke County Electric for 46 years before retiring. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who loved to garden, fish, hunt and watch movies.

Survivors of Weldon Reid include the love of his life, wife, Peggy Reid of Muenster; daughters and sons-in-law, Laneta and Ernie Martin of Muenster, Roxie and Phillip Russell of Muenster, and Mechal and Rex Harrell of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Rusty Lynn and Monnie Reid of Muenster; brother and sister-in-law, Thurman and Margie Reid of Marietta, Okla.; grandchildren and their spouses, Joey and Jeanie Martin of Gainesville, Yvonne and Nathan Sandmann of Valley View, Greg Russell of Gainesville, Angela and Shane Kennedy of Callisburg, William and Laura Harrell of Valley View, Stephanie Harrell of Gainesville, Telisha and Nicholas Yosten of Lewisville and Jennifer and Nathan Chatterley of Aubrey; great-grandchildren, Caleb Sandmann, Chloe Sandmann, Alex Gates, Nicole Gates, Zachary Kennedy, David Kennedy, Kay Ellen Kennedy, Gracie “Rosebud” Harrell, Breanna Yosten, Emma Yosten, Derek Yosten, June Chatterley and Trevor Reid; and great-great-grandchild, Rockie Ricardo.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Weldon Lavonne Reid, Jr.

CAROL LEE WILER-STEWART

WHITESBORO — Memorial services for Carol Lee Wiler-Stewart, 62, of Whitesboro, are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at First Baptist Church of Whitesboro with the Rev. Mike Flanagan officiating.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro.

Mrs. Stewart died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison.

She was born Dec. 16, 1949, in Stanford.  

Survivors include her son, Noah Kazati of Louisiana; mother, Johnnie McKee of Whitesboro; and sister, Linda Faye Adams of Florida.

Memorials may be made to the building fund or the James 127 Fund at First Baptist Church Whitesboro, 124 Center St., Whitesboro, TX 76273.

DARREL DEAN BERNDT

Darrel Dean Berndt passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, in his home in Dalworthington Gardens.

He was born on Feb. 2, 1932, in Morgan County, Ill.

At the age of 17, he joined the U.S. Navy where he served during the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Theresa Marie; his three children, Madison, Vincent and Cristen; and his three grandchildren, Ryan, Olivia, and Meghan.

A memorial graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to the Disabled American Veteran’s Association or the Arlington Public Library Foundation.
