PHYLLIS PROUD DeLANCEY
Funeral services for Phyllis Proud DeLancey, 69, of Gainesville, are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Chapel with Rev. Don Yeager officiating.
Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville.
Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.
Mrs. DeLancey departed this world on Dec. 9, 2012 in Gainesville.
She was born July 20, 1943, in Wilmington, Delaware, to Merriel and Florence Proud.
Phyllis graduated from John Dickinson High School in Wilmington in June 1961. Before her marriage, she worked for the Diamond State Telephone Co. in Wilmington, Delaware.
On March 8, 1963, she married James DeLancey at First Methodist Church in San Diego, Calif. They lived in several places while Jim served his country as a U.S. naval officer. They have two children and four grandchildren, the light of their “GG’s” life.
Phyllis was a member of First Methodist Church, North Texas Medical Center Auxiliary, Home Hospice and the Pi Zeta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi at the time of her death. While living at Lake Kiowa, she was a member of several clubs.
Phyllis loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends. She and Jim enjoyed traveling in their retirement. She loved walking the beach looking for sea glass.
She is survived by husband, James DeLancey of Gainesville; son, Mark DeLancey of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; daughter, Aimee Lane and husband Greg of Gainesville; and four loving grandchildren, Alie, DeLancey and Dawson Fogle, and Jordan Lane.
Mrs. DeLancey was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Janice Beal; and sister, Dorothy Halfen.
Pallbearers will be the husbands of Beta Sigma Phi.

HILDA SICKING PRESCHER
VALLEY VIEW — A funeral Mass for Hilda Sicking Prescher, 92, of Valley View, is set for 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. Victor Cruz officiating.
Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery.
A rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Our mother Hilda Bertha Sicking Prescher went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012.
Hilda was born to August Ben and Augusta F. Fliess Sicking on May 17, 1920, near Muenster.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She had a big heart; if someone came to her home hungry, she made sure they had something to eat. She never met a stranger. Hilda loved baking and quilting. Her grandkids said she made the best jam.
Hilda and Leo Prescher married on July 7, 1942 in Muenster. They bought a dairy farm in 1951, south of Valley View, where they raised their four children. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and St. Johns Ladies Altar Society.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-laws, Bonny and Florence Prescher of Gainesville and Jimmy and Pauline Prescher of Valley View; daughters and son-in-law, Donna Bauer of San Saba and Jeanie and Manuel Serna of Valley View; grandchildren, Bobby Joe and Karen Prescher, Mike and Debbie Prescher, Denise and Ron Powell, Doug and Holly Bauer, Steven and Lacy Bauer, John and Amy Bauer, Kenneth Bauer, Jay and Kandice Prescher, Jeremy and Rachel Prescher, Joey and Jamie Prescher, Julie and Darrell Twiner, Mark and Becky Serna and Michelle Serna Hurt; 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Victor Sicking of Muenster; and sister, Dorthy Buttrill of Fort Worth.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leo Prescher; one infant daughter; one infant son and granddaughter; grandson, Jeffery Prescher; great-granddaughter, Tiffany Serna; brothers, Thomas and Louis Sicking; and sisters, Annie Hacker, Gertrude Koelzer, Hattie Jetzelsberger, Agnes Prescher, Margaret Rainwater, Marie Ford and Cecile Perryman.
Pallbearers will be her 10 grandsons, and honorary pallbearers will be her three granddaughters.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Home Hospice of Cooke County.

Graveside services for Misty Renee Bruce Sewell, 27, of Gainesville, are set for 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at Valley View Cemetery with the Rev. Frank Sikes officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Geo J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home chapel Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
Misty passed away Dec. 8, 2012 in Valley View.
She was born in Gainesville on Nov. 18, 1985, to Michael D. and Lisa R. Smith Bruce.
She loved being a mother to her three children, and enjoyed karaoke.
She is survived by her husband, Jarred R. Sewell; her children, Traley, Jarren and MaKenna Sewell; her parents, Michael and Lisa Bruce; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bobby Sewell and Janna Kemper; sisters, Tiffany, Michia, Tara, Milisa Bruce and Alyssa Sewell; her grandmother, Shirley Smith; great-grandmother, Ruby L. Shoup; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Harley Tatum, Jason Huneycutt, Levi Millhollon, Kaleb Myer, Charles Smith, John Thomas, JT Thomas and Charles Woodard. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Bruce, Nathan Bruce, Chad Huneycutt and Randy Joe Sikes.

TIMPSON — Funeral services for Sy Grayson, 66, of Timpson, are set for 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at First Baptist Church in Center with Bro. Michael Hale officiating.
Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Roganville under the direction of Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center.
Mr. Grayson died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at Nacogdoches Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 7, 1946, in Anthony, Kan.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Grayson of Timpson; children, Tamara Suzanne Grayson of New Orleans, Brian Ray Grayson of Garrison and James Howard Grayson and Jerry Thomas Grayson of LaMesa; and siblings, Nancy Ebarb of Newton and Sarah Pope of Glen Burnie, Md.
Visitation is set for 4 to 5 p.m., Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at the funeral home.

JUDITH PAULINE “JUDI” SCHMIDT
SADLER — Graveside services for Judith Pauline “Judi” Schmidt, 82, are set for 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at Sadler Cemetery under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro.
Mrs. Schmidt died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, in Sherman.
She was born on June 25, 1930, in Colbert, Okla.
Survivors include stepdaughter, Teresa Carney, of Sadler, plus other stepchildren; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation is set for 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at the funeral home.
