LULA BELLE JAMES GROVE

 Memorial services for Lula Belle James Grove, 99, are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at the Woodbine Baptist Church, 245 C.R. 211 with services under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll and Son Funeral Home.

Lula passed away on Friday, March 29, 2013, in Whitesboro after 99 incredible years of life.

Lula was born on Aug. 23, 1913, in Tecumseh, Okla., to David Daniel and Dora Tilden McAdams James Jr.

She was one of 12 children; the family moved to Gainesville in 1960, where she worked as a nurse's aide into her mid-seventies. After retirement, she filled her time and heart with service in the nurseries of local churches. Lula was a devout and generous Christian woman who most recently attended Calvary Baptist Church in Gainesville and in recent years Woodbine Baptist Church in Woodbine. When she was not giving of herself to the church, she was an avid quilter who kept her children and grandchildren supplied with beautiful family heirlooms.

Survivors include her children, Stanley Grove of Whitesboro, Minnetta Denison of Oklahoma City, Mary Pettigrew of Irving, Dora Ward and Willey Grove of Gainesville and Sam and BJ Grove of Weatherford; and more than 100 grandchildren over five generations, as well as hundreds of local friends whom she counted as family.

She was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Richard Willey Grove; beloved daughter, Juanita Pearl Bryant; and her husband William Troy Bryant Jr.

SARA RIPPY KALINA

Funeral services for Sara Anne Rippy Kalina, 80, of Gainesville, are set for Monday, April 1, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Don Yeager officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

A visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 31, 2013, at the funeral home.

Sara Anne Kalina was born on May 12, 1932, in Overton to Evan O'Rear and Anna Eudoxia Roberson McKinney.

She passed away on March 28, 2013, in Grapevine.

She grew up in Sheridan, Ark. She graduated valedictorian of her high school and the top of her class at the University of Arkansas. She was a teacher; she managed several businesses; and was a member of the Republican Women's Group.

Sara is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Kalina of Grapevine, formerly of Lake Kiowa; brother, Leonard McKinney and his wife Patsy of Magnolia, Ark.; daughter, Sidney McLaughlin and her partner Kent Ray of Pilot Point; son, Vince Rippy and his wife Doris of Gainesville; daughter, Janeen Karm and her husband Rich of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; son, Arlan Kalina and his wife Allesandra of Haltom City; son, Robert Kalina II and his wife Vicki of Bedford; daughter, Kathy Davis of Ft. Worth; grandchildren, Denise Hannesschlager and her husband Mike, Sarita Cleveland and her husband Kevin, Ally Asaff and her husband Eric, Tice Rippy and his wife Samantha, Ross Rippy, John Martin and his wife Clarissa, Megan Sanders and her husband Nathan, Jennifer Lanning and her husband Craig, Craig Whitney, Renee Whitney, Robert Kalina, Stephanie Kalina, Christine Palmer, Shelly Kalina, Elaine Kalina, Kerri Kalina, and Ashley Davis; great-grandchildren, Avery Hannesschlager, Noelle Hannesschlager, William Hannesschlager, Emily Cleveland, Alexis Martin, Allyson Martin, Olivia Sanders, Lillian Sanders and Elizabeth Mae Lanning; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her first husband, Kenneth Wade Rippy, in 1994.

EDGAR JOSEPH   BIERSCHENK

ERA — Memorial services for Edgar Joseph Bierschenk, 76, of Era, are set for 2 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013, in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton.

Mr. Bierschenk died Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Denton Regional Medical Center.

He was born Aug. 2, 1936, in Lindsay.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Bierschenk of Era; children, Susan Pena of Decatur and Mary Crockett of Era; siblings, Billy Bierschenk, Imelda Rauschuber and Jody Rauschuber of Valley View, Mary Nell Klement of Hood, Kenneth Bierschenk and Betty Henscheid of Muenster and Bobby Bierschenk of Oklahoma City and Dennis Bierschenk of Weatherford; and four grandchildren.

T. J. CLICK

COLLINSVILLE — Funeral services for T. J. Click, 88, are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro with the Rev. Larry Arnold officiating.  

Burial will follow in Collinsville Cemetery.

Mr. Click died Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Texas Health Presbyterian-WNJ in Sherman.

He was born Jan. 15, 1925, in Woodbine.

Survivors include wife, Dorothy Click, of Collinsville; children, Elaine Thompson of Whitesboro and Karen Schindler of Pilot Point, TX; siblings, Maurice Click, Bill Click, Ella Reed, Doris Arnett and Wanda Stowe; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Visitation is set for 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2013, at the funeral home.

KENNETH PAUL TERRILL, SR.

WHITESBORO — Graveside services for Kenneth Paul Terrill, Sr., 69, of Whitesboro, are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro.

Mr. Terrill died Friday, March 29, 2013, at his residence.

He was born Feb. 11, 1944, in Ft. Scott, Kan.  

Survivors include his wife, Donna Terrill of Whitesboro; children:  Kenneth Terrill, Jr. of Dallas, Jeanne Bills and Tanya Stimmel of Hurst; brother, Ron Terrill of Whitesboro; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is set for 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2013, at the funeral home.

MARY LOU YOUNG

 Funeral services for Mary Lou Young, 79, of Gainesville, are set for 10 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Harvey Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Jordon Johnson officating.

Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Mrs. Young died Thursday, March 28, 2013, in Gainesville.

She was born on Dec. 14, 1933, in Gainesville.

Survivors include husband, Charles Young; children, Ronny Young of Lake Kiowa, Donny Young of Gainesville and Kenny Young of Denton; siblings, Bill Winters and Martha Bond of Gainesville and John Winters of Fremont, Calif.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
