GRACE M. SCOTT
Former Rush Springs, Okla. resident Grace M. Scott, 95, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010 in Gainesville.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010 at the Southern Baptist Church in Rush Springs, Okla. with Rev. Elmer Whitehead officiating.
Burial will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow, Okla.
Grace was born July 20, 1914 in Amber, Okla. to Franklin Hart and Gertrude (Hefner) Hart.
Grace graduated from Ninnekah High School and lived in Rush Springs, Okla. for 58 years before moving to Gainesville nine years ago. She married Milburn E. Scott in Dec. 1933 in Chickasha. He preceded her in death on Jan. 16, 1980. Grace worked at the Rush Springs Pharmacy for several years. She loved going to church and being a part of church activities. She also enjoyed gardening and bird watching. Grace loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was a member of the Southern Baptist Church in Rush Springs, Okla. and the Temple Baptist Church in Gainesville.
Survivors include four daughters, Barbara Dowling and husband Don of Frisco, Connie Stovall and husband Kenneth of Gainesville, Mary Nel O’Dell and husband Gary of Lake Kiowa, Ginger DeCaluwe of Gainesville and 64 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter and son-in-law, Georgia Kay and Frank Peterman; two grandsons, Tyler Scott Peterman, Douglas Lynn Dowling; two sisters, Lucille Beatty and Dora Willis and five brothers, George Hart, Albert Hart, John Hart, Raymond Hart and Larkin Hart.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Dowling, Scott Boswell, Frank Peterman, Darren Southerland, Justin Boswell and Todd Peterman.
Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Cypert, Chris Cypert, Arnold Johnson, Ronnie Jaraszewski, Marty Rowley and Jimmy Williams.
