Funeral services for Weldon Davis, 80, of Gainesville, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2014 at Hillcrest Church of Christ with David Gray officiating.

Interment will follow at Valley View Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 13 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Mr. Davis passed away February 10, 2014 in Gainesville.

Born October 12, 1933 in Sanger to Cordi and Lois Vandever Davis, Weldon grew up in Valley View.  It was there that he met and soon entered into marriage with Rae Ann Stephenson in 1953.  Shortly thereafter, Mr. Davis was drafted into the U.S. Army and served for two years during the Korean War, stationed primarily in Germany.  Following his service, Mr. Davis went to work for Santa Fe Railroad, where he spent his entire career of 45 years.  He worked in Dallas, Amarillo, Ardmore, and Gainesville, where he eventually retired.  Mr. and Mrs. Davis enjoyed traveling the country together in their camper.  He was also a passionate fisherman, sinking a hook anywhere there was water.

Survivors include: wife, Rae Ann Davis of Gainesville; sister, Wanda Cole of Sanger; brother, Waymon Davis of Lampasas; sister-in-law, Nelda Ford of Era; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Deborah Davis; son, Tony Davis; brothers, D.W. and Kenneth; and sister, Shirley Dyer.

Serving as pallbearers are: Tim and Troy Moon, Jimmy Meyer, Dennis Dyer, Allen Everett, Ronnie Davis, and Don Ford.  Serving as honorary pallbearers are: Rex Ford, Chris Tidwell, and Santa Fe Retirees.

KENNER, La – Funeral services for Jimmy “Jimbo” Carroll Jones Jr., 52, of Kenner, LA., are set for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Arthur Green officiating.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 14, 2014 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jimbo was born on October 7, 1961 in Sherman to Jimmy Carroll and Dorothy Fay (Perry) Jones Sr. He passed away on February 10, 2014 in Dallas.

Jimbo is survived by his wife, Lian Jones; son, Quinten Jones; stepchildren, J.L., Jica, and Josh; parents, Jimmy and Dorthy Jones Sr.; brother, Mike Jones and his wife Barbara; brother, Timothy Jones; brother, David Jones; sister, Mary Fay Jackson; sister, Bonnie Bearwald; sister, Connie Hiser and her husband, Phil; sister, Diana Thomas and her husband, David; sister, Carla Jones and her husband, Jeremy Stewart; many aunts and uncles, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack and Velma Jones, and Ben and Rheba Faye Perry.

LINDSAY – Mass of Christian burial for Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Stoffels, 79, of Lindsay, is set for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February, 12, 2014 at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Father Phil Petta officiating.

Burial will follow in the St. Peter's Cemetery under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

A rosary with visitation was held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Betty was born on June 27, 1934 in Gainesville to Joseph Henry and Clara Elizabeth (Hermes) Bengfort.

She passed away on February 8, 2014 in Gainesville.

  Betty retired from the Texas Department of Human Services.  She also served as a volunteer of the North Texas Medical Center Auxillary.

Betty is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte and Bill Winter and Katie and Billy Felderhoff; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Janice Stoffels, Bob and Pauline Stoffels, Tim and Sabrina Stoffels, and Stan and Stephanie Stoffels.

Betty is also survived by grandchildren, Jeff and Jessica Sicking and great-grandchildren, William and Skylar; Justin Sicking; Kim Winter and great-granddaughters, Gracie and Norah; Kassie and Billy Carnley and great-granddaughter, Addyson; Stephanie Stoffels; Chad Stoffels; Cheryl and Luke Vaughan and great-granddaughters, Camille and Faye; Kelli Stoffels; Emily Stoffels; Sarah Stoffels; Savannah Stoffels; Sabrina Stoffels; Sean Stoffels; Keri Crawford and great-grandchildren, Carson, Brailynn, and Kason; Brad Felderhoff; Chelsea and Dave Wilson; Jenna Felderhoff and Jeff Walterscheid; and Bill Felderhoff, Jr.; sister and brother-in-law, Stella and Tony Hess; and sister-in-law, Ann Bengfort.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her parents; sisters, Marie Zimmerer, Catherine Stoffels, Sister Elise Bengfort, and Dorothy Bengfort; and brothers, Joseph Bengfort, Leonard Bengfort, and Wilfred Bengfort.

Hector Guillermo Garcia Sr., age 69, of Gainesville, Tx, passed away February 9, 2014 at Pecan Tree Manor in Gainesville, Tx.  He was born on February 10, 1946 in Durango, Mexico to Jesus and Elodia Solis Garcia.

He was employed by Martindale Feedmill.  He loved soccer, but most important to him was his family.   Hector was a member of the Baptist Church, Primera Iglesia Bautista in Gainesville, Tx.

He is survived by his children, Fidencio Garcia of Mexico, Camelia Rojas of Gainesville, Tx., Dalia Garcia Millan of Gainesville,Tx., Elodia Rodriguez of Gainesville, Tx., Hector Garcia Jr., of Gainesville, Tx., Maria Garcia of Gainesville, Tx; grandchildren, Pierre, Nestor, Patsy, Lucerito, Rutillo, Juan, Noeli, Alexi, Alexavier; great-grandchild, Leandro; brother, Jesus Garcia of Mexico; sisters, Maria DeLaluz of Florida, Juana Solis of Mexico.

Preceding him in death were his parents, sisters, Elisa Martinez and Guadalupe Garcia.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2014 starting at 6 p.m. at Primera Iglesia Bautista Church, 1911 Luther Ln, Gainesville, Tx.

 Funeral Service will be Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Primera Iglesia Bautista Church, Gainesville, Tx.

Officiating will be Pastor Juvel Garcia.   

Burial will follow the service at New Rest Haven Cemetery in Gainesville, Tx.

Pallbearers will be Fidencio Garcia, Pierre Garcia, Nestor Garcia, Hector Garcia Jr., Rutilio Rojas Jr., Juan Pimentel, Jose Millan, Ramiro Landeros.

SHERMAN – Funeral services for James Wesley Davis, 84, are set for 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014 in the Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Chaplain Billy Williams and Rev. Andy Anderson officiating.  

Burial will follow in Dixie Cemetery in Whitesboro.

Visitation is set for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 12 at the funeral home.

Mr. Davis died Feb. 10, 2014 in Bonham.

He was born May 16, 1929 in Grayson County.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Davis, of Sherman; children, Bob Davis, of Columbus, Ohio, Mike Slayton of Dallas and Steve Slayton of Dallas; siblings, Charles Davis, of Southmayd, Billy Davis of Dexter and Helen Christman of Cartwright, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and two  great-grandchildren.

WHITESBORO – A visitation for Shirley Ann May, 64, of Whitesboro is set for 6 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014 at 507 North Ave. in Whitesboro.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro.

Mrs. May died Feb. 7, 2014 in Whitesboro.

She was born Oct. 12, 1949 in Sherman.

RICHARDSON – Graveside services for Gene Edward Cathey, 86, of Richardson, will be held at New Hope Cemetery.

Mr. Cathey died Feb.7, 2014 in Richardson.

WHITESBORO – Funeral services for Waunema Ruth Chisum Baum, 89, are set for 10 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church of Whitesboro with Rev. Rick Carney and Rev. Ken Hildebrand officiating.

Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro.

Mrs. Baum was born Feb. 22, 1924 in Dexter.

She died Feb. 8, 2014 in Whitesboro.
