KENNETH LEON WARD
Kenneth Leon Ward, 61, of Gainesville, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014.
He was born on June 24, 1952 in Fort Worth to Leon Buford Ward and Maybelle Estell Turner Ward.
He married Mary Jane Ward on Nov. 17, 2007 in Bolivar.
He volunteered at the Gainesville Food Bank, rode motorcycles, was an avid Christian, and loved watching “old westerns.”
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Jan, 16, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors with Pastor Bob Joyce officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Flowers, Dustin Bryant, Matthew Dalton, Mike Townsend, Greg Ward, and Jeff Ward.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Ward; sons, Greg Ward, Kenny Ward, Mike Townsend, Matthew Dalton, and Dustin Bryant; daughter, Tina Townsend; sister, Martha Ward; brothers, Stoney, Billy, and Jeff Ward; and 14 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services for Armella Lukenhaus, 89, of Muenster are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Muenster with Rev. Ken Robinson officiating.
Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Muenster under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home of Muenster.
Mrs. Lukenhaus died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014 in Gainesville.
She was born Feb. 24, 1924 in Muenster.
Survivors incude children, Norma Kubicek, Doris Muller, Walter, Dennis, Leo and Charles Lutkenhaus; sister, Marie Zimmerer; 20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

VIRGINIA MAE BOWEN
WHITESBORO – Funeral services for Virginia Mae Bowen, 85, will be held on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014 at 10 a.m. in the Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Jerry Henry officiating.
Interment will follow the services at Sadler Cemetery.
Visitation services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
She passed away in Whitesboro on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014.
Virginia was born on July 23, 1928 in Post to Herschal and Mabel (Vance) Evans. She was married to O. D. Reese for 50 years until he preceded her in death.
She was a member of Sadler Baptist Church and she taught Sunday School. She was an avid reader and a fantastic cook. She won a spelling bee in Sherman for senior citizens. She married Don Bowen on July 13, 2002.
She is survived by her husband, Don Bowen of Sadler; son, Glenn Reese and wife Janice of Kingston, Okla.; son, Terry Reese and wife Lolita of Gainesville; daughter, Sandra Tonkinson of Denton; daughter, Gayle Riddle of Whitesboro; son, Rodger Bowen of Sadler; grandchildren, Kirk and wife Jennifer; Kevin; Terry Jr. and wife Jennifer; Jodi and husband Jason; Jill and husband Nicholas; Brian and wife Isabel; Ashley; Dawn and husband Chris; Keith; Kaci and husband Brant; Cody and wife Kayla; great-grandchildren: Tanner, Spencer, Kirsten, Paige, Kaitlin, Nathaniel, and Banner.
She was preceded in death by her husband, O. D. Reese; son, Dale Reese; son-in-law, David Tonkinson: siblings, Imogene Morris and Daphne Beauchamp; L. W. Evans, J. E. Evans, Larry Evans, and Joy Johnson.

THOMAS “BUD” BRAGG
Graveside services, with military honors, for Thomas Edward Bragg, 87, of Gainesville, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014 at the Fairview Cemetery pavilion with Rev. Mark Wascom and Rev. Joe Knox officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2014, prior to the service, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.
Mr. Bragg passed away Monday, Jan. 13, 2014 in Plano.
Mr. Bragg was born Oct. 5, 1926 in Burkburnett to Thomas W. and Annie Lee (Barrow) Bragg.
Bud moved to Gainesville as a child. After high school, he served in the United States Navy and was discharged with medals and ribbons. He was then employed by National Supply, a Division of Armco Steel, where he retired after 30 years of service.
He married Pat Stark on Oct. 5, 1947 and celebrated 55 years of marriage until her death in 2002. Bud was a loving husband, devoted father, and wonderful "Pop" who was always eager and willing to spend time with his children and grandchildren and help out where needed. His generous spirit was felt everywhere by friends and family. Both Bud and Pat were charter members of Gainesville Bible Church.
In 2007, at age 80, KLUV radio station graciously sponsored a trip for Bud to fly to Washington D.C. with his daughter to visit the World War II Memorial which had just been erected.
His hobbies included fishing, wood-working, gardening and volunteering at the church.
Survivors include: daughter, Jillian Anderson and husband David of Arlington; son, Philip Bragg and wife Patricia of Gainesville; daughter, Carolyn Clark of Gainesville; daughter, Sara McGaugh and husband Roy of Izoro; daughter, Judy Greilich and husband Paul of Carrollton; daughter, Leslie Coffey of Highland Village; grandchildren: Aaron Chaffin, Heath Bragg, Allyson Bragg, Joshua McGaugh, Caleb McGaugh, Eric Greilich, Rachel Greilich, and Spencer Coffey; great-grandchildren: Kylee, Alexandria, and Matthew Chaffin, Savannah and Peyton Bragg, Ethan, Ciara, and Carlie Cleveland, Michaela Blakesly, and Anna Noel Bragg; and a great-great-grandchild, Kennedy Genelle. Survivors also include his sisters: Margaret Jones, Elizabeth Atteberry, and Ima Jean Clark.
Mr. Bragg was preceded in death by his wife, Pat Stark Bragg.
Mr. Bragg’s grandsons will be serving as pallbearers.
