Our mother Hilda Bertha Sicking Prescher went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012.

Hilda was born to August Ben and Augusta F. Fliess Sicking on May 17, 1920, near Muenster.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren.  She had a big heart; if someone came to her home hungry, she made sure they had something to eat.  She never met a stranger.  Hilda loved baking and quilting.  Her grasndkids said she made the best jam.

Hilda and Leo Prescher married on July 7, 1942 in Muenster. They bought a dairy farm in 1951, south of Valley View, where they raised their four children.  She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and St. Johns Ladies Altar Society.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-laws, Bonny and Florence Prescher of Gainesville and Jimmy and Pauline Prescher of Valley View; daughters and son-in-law, Donna Bauer of San Saba and Jeanie and Manuel Serna of Valley View; grandchildren, Bobby Joe and Karen Prescher, Mike and Debbie Prescher, Denise and Ron Powell, Doug and Holly Bauer, Steven and Lacy Bauer, John and Amy Bauer, Kenneth Bauer, Jay and Kandice Prescher, Jeremy and Rachel Prescher, Joey and Jamie Prescher, Julie and Darrell Twiner, Mark and Becky Serna and Michelle Serna Hurt; 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Victor Sicking of Muenster; and sister, Dorthy Buttrill of Fort Worth.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leo Prescher; one infant daughter; one infant grandson and granddaughter; grandson, Jeffery Prescher; great-granddaughter, Tiffany Serna; brothers, Thomas and Louis Sicking; and sisters, Annie Hacker, Gertrude Koelzer, Hattie Jetzelsberger, Agnes Prescher, Margaret Rainwater, Marie Ford and Cecile Perryman.

Pallbearers will be her 10 grandsons, and honorary pallbearers will be her three granddaughters.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Home Hospice of Cooke County.
