SUE GOODWIN COOK

Sue Goodwin Cook, born in Gainesville to Sophia Margaret Davis and husband Henry Richard Beaver, reposed Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012.

She is survived by her two children, Beverly Sue Gill Hammett and husband, Grady, and Wayne Melvin Goodwin, Jr.; sister, Mary Bess Maltby Fletcher of Los Osos, Calif.; grandchildren, Samuel Wayne Gill of Dallas, Wayne Melvin Goodwin III, of Dallas, and Elizabeth Lane Goodwin Hoffman of Flower Mound; great-grandson, Luke Daniel Hoffman of Flower Mound; nephew, William Jefferson England of Los Osos, Calif.; and nieces, Sheryl Lynn Beaver of Gainesville, Carol Ann Whitte of Brenham and Polly Peaks Elmore of Killeen.

A member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Sue was the owner of Sue Goodwin Realtors in Farmers Branch. She was also a trustee of the Carrollton Famers Branch School District, a member of the executive board of directors of the Southwestern Diabetic Foundation, and Director of Camp Sweeney — a facility for children with medical and mental disabilities. Sue was appointed to serve on the Governor’s Commission on the Status of Women and was chairman of the Metrocrest Hospital Authority.  She was a longtime member of Park Cities Baptist Church.

She was married to Wayne Melvin Goodwin until his death, and later married the Rev. Dr. Charles William Cook. She was stepmother to Dr. Charles William Cook Jr. of Corsicana and Dr. Robert Lee Cook and wife Kristie Collins Cook, of Magnolia. Step-grandchildren include Kathryn Elizabeth and Rebecca Louise Cook, and Christian Charles and Claire Elizabeth Cook.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, in Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Sue’s memory to a charity of choice.

ROYCE DEAN “PUD” ALBERT

Graveside services for Royce Dean “Pud” Albert, 89, of Gainesville, are pending with Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Ms. Albert died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, in Gainesville.  

She was born July 16, 1923, in Gainesville.

Survivors include brother, Ronald Albert of Walburg.

POLLY BUSH

Funeral services for Polly Bush, 88, of Gainesville, are set for 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at Meador-Clement-Keel Chapel with Rev. Jordan Johnson and Rev. Jack Crockett officiating.

Burial will follow in Callisburg Cemetery under the direction of Meador-Clement-Keel Funeral Home.  

Mrs. Bush died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at Gainesville Health and Rehab Center.  

She was born June 5, 1924, in Callisburg.

Survivors include daughter, Tracie Buckaloo of Gainesville; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.  

Visitation is set for 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at the funeral home.

RICKEY DALE ZACHARY

Funeral services for Rickey Dale Zachary, 57, are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, in the Christian Life Center of Temple Baptist Church with Dr. Eddie Chennault officiating.  

Graveside services will follow in New Rest Haven Cemetery under the direction of Meador-Clement-Keel Funeral Home.  

Mr. Zachary died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, in Gainesville.

He was born July 27, 1955, in Sherman.

Survivors include his parents, Roby and Jean Zachary of Gainesville; children, Megan Zachary and Krystal Zachary of Gainesville, Jennifer Bossert of Collinsville and Hope Zachary of Durant, Okla.; brother, Roland Zachary of Arkansas; and three grandchildren.

HAROLD ZUNK

GORDONVILLE — Funeral services for Harold Bernard Zunk, 94, of Gordonville, are set for 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Mr. Zunk died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, in Sherman.

He was born on July 24, 1918, in Toledo, Ohio.

Survivors include children, Nancy Westbrook of Newark, Larry Zunk of Gordonville and Terry Zunk of Red Bluff, Calif.; sister, Kay Lawther; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
