BILLY GENE CASHION

A memorial service with Masonic rites for Billy Gene Cashion is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Don Yeager officiating.  

Mr. Cashion passed away Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, in Dallas.

Billy Gene was born Aug. 7, 1926, in Lexington, Okla.  

He attended Cleveland County Elementary School, Norman, Oklahoma High School and Cooke County Junior College.  Billy served his country in the U.S. Army from October 1944 until August 1946, serving in the battle of central Europe.  Following his time in the military, Billy married Marchie Lee Luke on Nov. 20, 1947, in Gainesville. They lived in Davis, Okla., until moving to Gainesville in June 1953.  Mr. Cashion began employment with Arco Oil and Gas Company in 1951, and retired in 1985.

He was active in the community and his church serving in the following capacities; Building and Revenue Committee-Gainesville Lodge #210, Board of Trustees-Woodbine Water Supply Corp., Life Member of Disabled American Veterans, Board of Trustees-First United Methodist Church, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Chairman Membership Committee, 85th District Fort Worth Scottish Rite Bodies, President of ARCO Retirees Club and Charter member of Fort Worth Scottish Rite Bodies Member OES-1123.

Survivors of  Billy Gene Cashion include children, Barbara Cashion Higgason and Richard Eugene Cashion; grandchildren, Stephen Douglas Mead and wife Lisa, Megan Mead Livingston and husband, Cameron, Ryan Joseph Cashion, Reece Eugene Cashion and Ricki Lee Cashion; and those all important great-grandbabies, Revan Hunter Cashion and Cadence Bailey Livingston.

Services are under the direction of Meador-Clement-Keel Funeral Home.

GENEVA TYLENE CUNNINGHAM SCOTT

OKLAHOMA CITY — Graveside services for Geneva Tylene Cunningham Scott, 85, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Gainesville, are set for 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at Fairview Cemetery with David Gray officiating under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll and Son Funeral Home.

Geneva went to her Heavenly reward on Oct. 30, 2012, in Oklahoma City.

Geneva was born in Zephyr on Nov. 29, 1926.

She graduated Zephyr High School in 1944. She met and married James Scott in Brownwood. They moved to Gainesville in 1964, and operated the Caravan Motor Hotel for many years. Geneva was a faithful woman of God who dearly loved and cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Geneva is survived by her sons, Mike and wife Debbie Scott of Oklahoma City and Dennis and wife Sharon Scott of Houston. She is also survived by six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.  

Geneva was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband James Scott in 1982.

ONEVA BERTHA MUSE

Graveside services for Oneva Bertha Muse, 102, are set for 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at Fairview Cemetery with Ben Willingham officiating under the direction of Clement-Keel Funeral Home.

Mrs. Muse died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at River Valley Health and Rehab Center.

She was born July 24, 1910, in Denton.

Survivors include three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
