TOMMY BURTON THREET

WELLSTON, OKLA. — Tommy Burton Threet of Wellston, Okla., was born June 18, 1930, in Holliday to Percy Temple and Edith Marie (Furrh) Threet and passed away Oct. 26, 2012, in Wellston, Okla., at the age of 82.

His funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at the Lehman Funeral Home Chapel in Wellston, Okla.

Tommy was a bus driver for Greyhound, which brought him through Wellston where he made his home raising three children with his wife, Wanda Jean (Bryson) Threet.

Tommy is survived by his wife, Wanda, of the home; children, Tommy B. Threet, Jr. and Jeannie Shupe of Wellston, Okla.; and brother, Richard Solesbee.

Visitation was Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, and the family was present to welcome friends for a reception at the funeral home.

VIRGINIA BRYANT

Funeral services for Virginia Bryant, 79, of Gainesville, are set for 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bryant died Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, in Wichita Falls.

She was born July 15, 1933, in Tioga.

Visitation is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at the funeral home.



LORETTA DAVIS

A funeral Mass for Loretta Davis, 75, of Gainesville, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. Victor Cruz officiating.  

Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.  

A Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Davis was born Sept. 21, 1937, in Myra to Al and Marie Bayer.  

She passed away Oct. 28, 2012, in Denton.

Mrs. Davis was a loving wife, mother, and devoted grandmother.  She attended numerous school activities with her grandchildren.  She loved the Aggies about as much as she loved her shoes.  She traveled the world, loved to read a good book and enjoyed a great game of cards.

Survivors include daughter, Debra Davis of Gainesville; son, Charles Davis of Gainesville; son, John Davis and wife Bobbie of Gainesville; grandchildren, Kirk Wilson, Kinzy Wilson, Boston Davis, Hagen Davis, Emily Davis, and Trent Davis; great-granddaughter, Ayden Belle Wilson; sister, LaVonta Ward of Haskell; sister, Lanette Trammell of Gainesville; and brother, Joe Bayer and wife Linda of South Lake.  Survivors also include a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Davis was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Delbert Davis; and her parents.

Pallbearers will be Burke Sullivant, John Dieter, Mike Milligan, Rodney Oxenreiter, Dirk Bode and Donny Wilson.

RONALD “RONNIE” KEITH SKAGGS

LAKE KIOWA — A memorial service for Ronald "Ronnie" Keith Skaggs, 59, of Lake Kiowa, is set for Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at 1 p.m. at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Frank Sikes officiating.

No visitation is planned.

Ronnie was born in Gainesville to Alvin Alexander Skaggs and Mary Willis Martin Skaggs on March 10, 1953.

He passed away at his residence on Oct. 28, 2012.

Ronnie was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of the Law Dogs Motorcycle Club and enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson. He was self-employed and owned Skaggs Heating & Air for 10 years.

He is survived by his fiance, Michelle Pneuman of Lake Kiowa; son, Jeff Skaggs of Bonham; daughter, Jennifer Parsons of Gainesville; mother, Mary White and her husband Bill Morrison of Gainesville; brother, Bill Skaggs of Gainesville; sister, Renae DeGarmo of Gainesville; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Calvin “Corky” Skaggs.

ROBERT LARKIN GIFFEN

SAINT JO — Funeral services for Robert Larkin Giffen, 72, of Saint Jo, are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at First Baptist Church of Saint Jo with the Rev. Jeff Roe, Rev. Roger Best and Rev. Dan Green officiating.

Burial will follow in Mt. Park Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home in Saint Jo.

Mr. Giffen died Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at Muenster Health and Rehab.

He was born June 11, 1940, in Fort Worth.

Survivors include children, Paul Giffen, Ronald Lee Giffen, Melinda Giffen, Pamela Cavaness and Shirley Ann Giffen; siblings, Doris Ann Best, Joyce Laverne Parchman and James Daniel Giffen; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
