Funeral services for John Dee Holt, 86, of Gainesville, will be held Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with the Rev. Don Westbrook and Rev. Eddie Chennault officiating.
Interment will follow the service at Cedarlawn Cemetery in Sherman.
Visitation services will be Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
He passed away at his residence in Gainesville on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013.
John was born on Nov. 22, 1926, in Gainesville to Mansel Dee and Ethel M. Holt.
He married Jackie Barrett on Dec. 2, 1977, in Sherman. He served his country during World War II as a seabee in the U.S. Navy. He was a farmer and rancher for many years. He worked for many years as a technician for the Soil Conservation Service of Cooke County before retiring. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Gainesville.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Holt of Gainesville; daughters, Beverly Green and husband Rick of Sherman, Barbara Boland and husband Bob of Sherman and Becky Krueger and husband Vernon of Corinth; grandchildren, Neil Sladecek and wife Heather of Sherman, Courtney Fadal and husband Hugh of Sequin, Shawn Davis and wife Colby of Montague, Branda McEwen and husband Michael of Ponder, Landon Krueger and wife Jocelyn of Dallas and Jessica Caulfield of McKinney; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Holt of Gainesville; and nephew, Robert Holt of Gainesville.
The pallbearers will be Shawn Davis, Neil Sladecek, Landon Krueger, Michael McEwen, Hugh Fadal and Robert Holt.

WALLACE HOLT, SR.
SANGER — Memorial services for Wallace Holt, Sr., 62, of Sanger, are set for 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb 22, 2013, at Bethany Chapel in Gainesville with Bobby Balthrop officiating.
Mr. Holt died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 21, 1950, in Artesia, N.M.
Survivors include wife, Charlene Holt of Sanger; children, Lee Holt of Howe, Kathy Edwards of Sanger and Christina Turnbow of Sanger; siblings, Alice Scott of Moss Lake and Barbra Balthrop of Myra; and eight grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the family.
Funeral services for Janelle Pogue, 86, of Gainesville, are set for 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at Grand Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. Frank Lorne officiating.
Burial will follow in New Rest Haven Cemetery under the direction of Meador-Clement-Keel Funeral Home.
Mrs. Pogue died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, in Dallas.
She was born Nov. 5, 1926, in Clarksville.
Survivors include children, Timothy Pogue of Arlington, Marion Bryant of Odessa, Harriet Jane Russell of Collinsville, Okla., Judy Daniels of Denver, Colo., and Ada Nicholson of Grand Prairie; seven siblings; 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is set for 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at the funeral home.
