Janelle Pogue, a longtime resident of Gainesville, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, in Dallas.

Janelle was born Nov. 5, 1926, in Clarksville.  

She moved to Gainesville in 1943, and remained there until she moved to Lancaster in 2009, due to failing health, to be close to family.  While in Gainesville, Janelle worked as a cook and housekeeper for Dr. Wallace, Dr. Shea, Earnest Meddores and Eva Clifton. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Paul Pogue; parents, Ben and Ada Samuels; granddaughter, Jacquelyn Bryant; and brother, Larry (Bud) Moten.  

Janelle is survived by one son, Timothy Pogue and wife Sydne of Arlington; four daughters, Marion Bryant and husband Woodrow of Odessa, Harriet Jane Russell and husband Charles of Collinsville, Okla., Judy Daniels and husband Curtis of Denver, Colo., and Ada Nicholson of Grand Prairie; 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; three brothers; four sisters; one brother-in-law; one sister-in-law; and a loving host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at Grand Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. Frank Lorne, pastor of Corinth Baptist Church, officiating.  

Interment will follow in New Rest Haven Cemetery.  

Joseph Pogue, Jeff Mack, Terry Russell, Todd Russell, Aaron Clegg and Timothy J. Pogue, Jr. will serve as pallbearers.  

A wake will be held 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at Meador-Clement-Keel Funeral Home.

KAREN HARRISON

EULESS — Funeral services for Karen Gail (Flowers) Harrison, 57, of Euless, are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at the Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Ricky Patterson officiating.  

Burial will follow the service in Collinsville Cemetery.  

Mrs. Harrison died Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, in Euless.

She was born Dec. 28, 1955, in Gainesville.

Survivors include husband, Vance Harrison of Irving; children, Wayne Cupples of Midlothian, Tamara Francis of Waxahachie and Cynthia Cupples of Addison; mother, Martha Flowers of Collinsville; brother, Ricky Flowers of Duncanville; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is set for 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at the funeral home.

WALLACE HOLT, SR.

SANGER — Memorial services for Wallace Holt, Sr., 62, of Sanger, are set for 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb 23, 2013, at his residence at 301 S. First St. in Sanger.

Mr. Holt died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at his residence.

He was born Feb. 21, 1950, in Artesia, N.M.

Survivors include wife, Charlene Holt of Sanger; children, Lee Holt of Howe, Kathy Edwards of Sanger and Christina and Cody Turnbow of Sanger; siblings, Alice Scott of Moss Lake and Barbra Balthrop of Myra; and eight grandchildren.
