— MARYANN CARSON

MaryAnn Carson, 76, went to God Sunday morning, July 21, 2013. 

A funeral mass will be said by Father Jeff Stubbs at Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church in Gainesville on Thursday, July 25, 2013, at 3 p.m. 

Her cremated remains will be inurned in the church columbarium. 

A reception will follow immediately at the adjacent parish hall. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the church, if desired, in lieu of flowers.

Survivors include her husband, Captain W. Grant Carson, USN (Ret.) of Gainesville; one son and daughter-in-law, Dan Coleman Deffebach, Jr. and Hillary Threet Deffebach of Graham, three daughters, Tammy Ann Skipwith of Fayetteville, Ark., Terry Lea Hale of Atlanta, Ga., Danice Lillie Grisham and husband Shawn Michael Grisham of Dallas; stepdaughter, Linda Goswick of Kilgore; stepson and daughter-in-law, Grant H. and Jessica Carson of Ventura, Calif., nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude B. Carson; one son, Tolly Joe Lucas; and previous husband, Dan C. Deffebach.

MaryAnn was born in Fort Worth on Aug. 10, 1936, and was reared in Dallas. She attended City of Dallas schools and Tyler Junior College.  She lived in Tyler for 35 years, raising her children and managing a small business and also ranching enterprises.

MaryAnn and husband Grant have resided in Gainesville since 2002. She was active in Red River Valley Chorus of Sweet Adelines International, North Central Texas Chorale, North Texas Women’s Choir and Saint Paul’s choir.  She did volunteer work for Morton Museum and was a member of Cooke County Historical Society and South Gainesville Historic Neighborhood Association.

GLENNA LEE GREENE DELANEY

STEPHENVILLE — Funeral services for Glenna Lee Greene Delaney, 80, of Stephenville, are set for Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Chapel with the Rev. Larry Kremling officating with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Glenna passed away on July 20, 2013, in Fort Worth.

Glenna was born on Aug. 24, 1932, in Chickasaw, Okla., to Elbert Nelson and Dorthy Beatrice Greene.

She married Charles E. Delaney on Nov. 20, 1986, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 9, 2010.

Glenna lived in the Colony and moved to Stephenville in 2010, and she was a member of the Harvey Baptist Church in Stephenville. Glenna enjoyed being with her family, enjoyed sewing, cooking, shopping and playing games with her friends.

Glenna is survived by her daughter, Patty Baker of Comanche; brothers, Kenneth Ray (Jack) Greene, Jimmy Dale (J.D.) Greene, both of Gainesville; stepchildren, Tim Delaney of Washington, D.C., Kathey Delaney Warner of Arlington, Kevin Delaney of Sugarland, Karen Delaney Smith of Irving, Dennis Delaney of Austin and Tom Delaney of Euless and their spouses, children and grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be nephews.

Glenna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Delaney; sisters, Mable Mask, Lucille Neal and Ruth Bullard; and brothers, H.L. Greene, G.D. Greene. John Greene and Elbert Leroy Greene.
