MOZELLE (SANDERS) McWHORTER

ALVARADO – Funeral Services for Mozelle (Sanders) McWhorter, 91, are set for 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Jerry Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Collinsville Cemetery.

Mrs. WcWhorter died Sunday, October 11, 2009 at the Huguley Nursing and Rehab Center in Burleson.

She was born on March 28, 1918 in Collinsville to Roy Clyde and Edith Ann (Swindle) Sanders. Mozelle married Robert Arthur McWhorter, Jr. on July 29, 1935 in Whitesboro. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Collinsville.

Survivors include a son, Bob McWhorter and wife, Marilyn of Alvarado.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; a daughter, Patricia Ann McWhorter; and several brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

DONALD DREW THOMPSON

MADILL, Okla. — Funeral services for Donald Drew Thompson, 78, of Madill, Okla. are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14 at the Watts Memorial Chapel, Madill, Okla. Lyndol Adams and Stacey Erm will officiate the services. Music will be arranged by Kathy Adams, Charlene Wiggington and James Wiggington. I

nterment will be at the Woodberry-Forest Cemetery, Madill, Okla. Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Okla.

Mr. Thompson passed away Friday, Oct. 9, 2009 at the hospital in Madill.

He was born on February 15, 1931 in Callisburg to the late Andrew Madison Thompson and Mary Elizabeth Traw Thompson. Donald was raised in Callisburg and graduated from the Boqota High School. He joined the military and served in the Army Air Force before moving to Gordonville where he worked selling fishing supplies. Donald worked in the oil field from 1958 until he retired in 1984. He moved to Gainesville and then to Madill in 1997 where he lived the rest of his life. Donald was a member of the Cumberland Baptist church where he was very active. He taught the men’s Sunday school class and sang in the choir. He was also active in the Brookside Nursing home ministries where he helped bring the message. He enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening and card games and loved jokes.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Thompson of Madill, Okla; son Gerald Thompson of Cumberland Cove, Okla; daughters Fonoma Powell of Wilson, Okla; Linda Bengfort of Ardmore, Okla. and Stacey Erm, Albuquerque, N.M; seven grandchildren Michael Thompson, Aarron Gray, Cassandra Bengfort, Brandon Bengfort, Nathan Gray, Randy Thompson, Bessie Kent and Samuel Edwards and seven great-grandchildren Shelby Gray, Krystal Thompson, Tyler Thompson, Michah Gray, Dillon Thompson, Miley Kent, Brandon Bengfort Jr.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents three brothers, five sisters, one granddaughter Crystal Renee Thompson, previous wife Mary K. Thompson and one son Michael Pruitt.

Casket Bearers are Aarron Gray, Cassandra Bengfort, Nathan Gray, Brandon Bengfort, Randy Thompson, Samuel Edwards, Robert Bengfort and Michael Thompson

Honorary Bearers are the Cumberland Cove Men’s Sunday school class.

Visitation will be at the Watts Funeral Home in Madill from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today. Family hour will be from 7 to 8 p.m.

MARY B. OWENS

BRIDGEPORT — Graveside services for Mary B. Owens, 89, of Gainesville are set for 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14 at West Bridgeport Cemetery in Bridgeport with Rev. Robert Carlock of Bible Baptist Church officiating.

Mrs. Owens died Oct. 12, 2009 at North Texas Medical Center.

Survivors include daughters Nancy Weaver-Wilson of Kilgore and Carol Long of Euless, son Paul Stanfield of Gainesville and sister Carol Hollis of Weatherford.

No visitation is planned.



VIEVA STEPHENSON

Funeral services for Vieva Stephenson, 89, of Gainesville are set for 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15 at Clement-Keel Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Fincher of Central Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in New Rest Haven Cemetery in Gainesville. Services are under the direction of Clement-Keel Funeral Home.

Mrs. Vieva Stephenson died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009 at North Texas Medical Center in Gainesville.

She was born March 29, 1920 in Marysville to Hiram and Emma (Reeves) Ramsey. Mrs. Stephenson was a member of Central Baptist Church in Gainesville.

Survivors include her three nieces, Judy Schmidt of Carrollton, Kathy Kennedy of Whitesboro and Jan Harris of Wylie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Alonzo Stephenson, Jr. in 1993.

Her great-nephews will serve as pallbearers.

A visitation is set for Wednesday from 6-7 p.m. at Clement-Keel Funeral Home.
