Thomas C. Raley, 65, went to be with his Savior on Dec. 12, 2009.
Tom was born Sept. 30, 1944 in Muskogee, Okla. to Loy and Nettie Raley. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. Tom was proud to serve his country and was grateful for the opportunities it provided him. Tom was trained as a jet engine mechanic and his final duty as a civilian worker was at Perrin Field in Sherman. Upon Perrin Field’s closing, Tom moved to Gainesville where he remained for the rest of his life. Tom married the absolute love of his life, Joanie Eberhart on April 3, 1978. Tom was passionate about many things in life but what he held closest included his faith, which was evident by the way he lived; his family, who he dedicated his time to always and who in turn loved him with all their heart and his friends, who he made a priority to help in any way he could.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Joanie Raley of Gainesville; daughter, Ginger and husband Jonathan Pino and granddaughter, Raley Beth all of Wichita Falls; and sister, Mryna James of Bartlesville, Okla.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends tonight, Dec. 14, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. in the First Baptist Church Gainesville Activities Building.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, TX 76310 or please make contributions to your local Hospice provider. We rest in the promise that, “Our citizenship is in heaven, from which we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory” (Phil 3:20).
