MARSHALL HENRY HUGHES
Funeral services for Marshall H. Hughes, 92, of Gainesville, formerly of Wichita Falls, are set for 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Hubert Wright officiating.
A visitation will follow the funeral.
Interment will be at Crestview Memorial Park in Wichita Falls at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22, 2012.
Marshall was born April 4, 1920, in Wichita Falls to Mr. & Mrs. Leslie E. Hughes.
He went peacefully to his home in heaven on Oct. 17, 2012, at the Gainesville Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Marshall was a devoted husband to his wife, Opal, who preceded him in death in 2010. He was a loving father to Charlotte and Marsha and adored his four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Marshall proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Marshall worked 26 years for Conoco Oil Refinery. He was the last person to work for Conoco before it closed in Wichita Falls. He and his father owned Les Hughes Auto Parts, which later became M.H. Hughes Auto Parts. He began his career with United Saving, which he enjoyed until his retirement. His retirement years were filled with fun vacations with his grandchildren and going to Swap Meets filled with auto parts. He married his high school sweetheart, Opal Cole on January 8, 1939. They celebrated 71 years of marriage before Opal preceded him in death.
Marshall was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Lydia Hughes; and a sister, Grace Wallander.
Marshall is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte and Harry Bevil of Broken Arrow, Okla.; Marsha and Steve Day of Lake Kiowa; four grandchildren and their spouses Paul and Leslie Buford of Denton; Lane and Stephanie Tisdale of Denton; Jarrett and Tracy Bevil of Broken Arrow, Okla.; Steven and Alison Day of Dallas; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at Gainesville Heath & Rehabilitation for their excellent care of Marshall.

Funeral services for Margie Holt, 82, of Gainesville, are set for 2:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at Meador-Clement-Keel Chapel with the Rev. Allen Dorries officiating.
Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Meador-Clement-Keel Funeral Home.
Mrs. Holt died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, at Pecan Tree Health and Rehab Center.
She was born July 12, 1930, in Willis, Okla.
Survivors include children, Deborah Lou Fuhrmann, Ricki Sistrunk and Randy Sistrunk of Gainesville; siblings, James Dugger of Marietta, Okla., and Novie Brooks of Ardmore, Okla.; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

DANNY POTTER
Graveside services for Danny Potter, 54, of Gainesville are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at New Resthaven Cemetery.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.
Mr. Potter died Oct. 13, 2012, in Gainesville.
He was born March 8, 1958, in Frankfort, Germany.
Survivors include daughter, Rae Lynn Potter Eckert of Myra; sister, Jimmy Potter of Whitney; and three grandchildren.

KENNETH JAMES THURMAN
LINDSAY — Funeral services for Kenneth James Thurman, 71, of Lindsay, is set for 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Lindsay, with the Rev. Ken Robinson officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery under the direction of Meador-Clement-Keel Funeral Home.
Mr. Thurman died Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at Corinth Atrium.
He was born Aug. 4, 1941, in Callisburg.
Survivors include his wife, Janie Thurman of Lindsay; children, Donna Zimmerer of Lindsay, Sherrie Krebs of Bridgeport, Kenny Thurman of Lindsay, Beth Trubenbach of Muenster and Vicki Thurman of Lindsay; siblings, Loyd Thurman, Jr. of Fort Worth and Betty Binford of Marysville; and 12 grandchildren.
