LILLIAN (REED) HOWARD

WHITESBORO — In God’s time, not ours, Lillian went to be with Him two months after her 94th birthday.

Funeral services for Lillian Edith Reed Howard of Whitesboro will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with the Rev. Billy Reed and Dr. Rusty Waller officiating.

Interment will follow the service at Macomb Cemetery.

Family visitation was Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at the funeral home.

Lillian Howard passed away on Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at the Homestead in Denison.

Lillian Edith Reed Howard was born to Thomas Michael Reed and Mary Susan (Jackson) Reed on Sept. 9, 1918, in Gunter, and married Willie Thomas Howard on Aug. 29, 1936, in Gainesville. Lillian attended the First Baptist Church of Gordonville and was the oldest living member of North Hills Baptist Church in Whitesboro. She moved from here to Dallas in 1949, and worked at Simmons Mattress Company, Better Monkey Grip, White’s Auto, and Haber Fabricating Company. Lillian loved to can vegetables, cook, sew, garden, raise chickens and ran over many minnow buckets while fishing.

Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Edith and Noble McElreath of Whitesboro; son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Charmayne Howard of Austin; grandchildren, Jennifer Bream, Stacy Howard, Angela Arnold, Cary Howard and Ricky Joe Howard; great-grandchildren, Logan Thomas Bream, Haley Nicole Howard, Jason Pockrus, Joshua Pockrus and Natalie Ann Guynes, Jewel Arnold, Max Howard and Alex Howard; sister, Mable Brister; and brothers, Bobby Reed and Willie Joe Reed.

Mrs. Howard was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Thomas Howard; her parents, Thomas and Mary Reed; son, Robert Don Howard; son-in-law, David Pockrus Sr.; grandsons, Roger Pockrus and David Pockrus Jr.; great-grandson, Justin Pockrus; and brothers and sisters, J.T. Reed, Jesse Lee Reed, Ruth McCoy and Ona Mae Garland.

Pallbearers are Joshua Pockrus, Dennis Garland, Brandon Helms, Charles Thomas, John Kemp, Charles Hilger and Charlie Williams.

Honorary pallbearer is Jennifer Bream.

ROBERT EUGENE McCANN

VALLEY VIEW — Funeral services for Robert Eugene McCann, 72, of Valley View are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at Commerce Street Church of Christ with church deacon Pat Sharp officiating.  

Interment will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at Hillside Memorial Gardens in Snyder with Wesley McAdams officiating.  

Mr. McCann died Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at his residence.

Robert was born July 29, 1940, in Calexico, Calif., to George Floyd and Ora Mae (Caswell) McCann.  

He was a self employed contractor and member of Commerce Street Church of Christ.

Survivors of Robert McCann include brothers and sisters-in-law, Glenn and Gladys McCann of Irving and Gerald and Tanya McCann of Midland; sons, Robert, Kirk and Barry of Burleson; his one true love, Sue, of Burleson; grandsons, Michel and Shawn; great-granddaughter, Emalee; and several nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Willard Lloyd McCann; and an infant brother.

Services are under the direction of Meador-Clement-Keel Funeral Home.
