KENNETH JAMES THURMAN

Mass of Christian Burial for Kenneth James Thurman, 71, is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Lindsay, with Rev. Ken Robinson officiating.

Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Jeffrey Zimmerer, Johnathan Zimmerer, Benjamin Zimmerer, Joseph Krebs, Dustin Krebs, Cody Thurman, Levi Trubenbach and Godson Chris Kubis.

A Rosary will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church Thursday evening at 7 p.m., followed by family visitation.

Lindsay resident Kenneth Thurman passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at Corinth Atrium at the age of 71.

He was born Aug. 4, 1941, in Callisburg to Loyd and Alma (Partain) Thurman.

Kenneth married Janie Kubis on May 6, 1961. He worked for Weber Aircraft for 40 years before retiring. Mr. Thurman was a referee for the Southwest Football Association for 20 years and was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Lindsay.

Survivors of Kenneth Thurman include his wife, Janie Thurman of Lindsay; children and their spouses, Donna and Michael Zimmerer of Lindsay, Sherrie and Patrick Krebs of Bridgeport, Kenny and Gena Thurman of Lindsay, Beth and Karl Trubenbach of Muenster and Vicki Thurman of Lindsay; grandchildren, Jeffrey Zimmerer, Johnathan Zimmerer, Benjamin Zimmerer, Joseph Krebs, Ashley Krebs, Dustin Krebs, Jessica Thurman, Cody Thurman, Levi Trubenbach, Lacey Trubenbach, Henry Thurman and Simon Thurman; brother, Loyd Thurman, Jr. and his wife, Betty of Fort Worth; and sister, Betty Binford and her husband Dwayne of Marysville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd and Alma Thurman; and a sister, Geraldine Dillon.

PAULINE ROSE GRILL FISHER

DENTON — Memorial services for Pauline Rose Grill Fisher, 82, of Denton, are set for 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Muenster with the Rev. Ken Robinson and Rev. Baby George officiating.

Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home of Muenster.

Mrs. Fisher died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, in Denton.

She was born Jan. 14, 1930, in Midlothian, Ill.

Survivors include children, Nancie Lippe and Charles Fisher of Muenster, Kathie Herr, Laurie Lawrence and Richard J. Fisher of Denton, Virginia Kelson and Julie Walford of Corinth, Daniel T. Fisher of Lindsay and Ronnie Fisher of Wichita Falls; siblings, Mary Phyllis Yates of Watervleit, Mich., Kenneth Grill of Midlothian, Ill., and Keith Sharon Grill of Orland Park, Ill.; 27 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Rosary/vigil services are set for 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Memorials may be made to Sisters of St. Mary’s Namur in Fort Worth, The Loretto House in Denton, Blessed John Paul II of Denton or the charity of your choice.



ALMA MOSTER

LINDSAY — Funeral services for Alma Moster, 82, of Lindsay, are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Fr. Jim Moster officiating.  

Burial will follow in the St. Peter’s Cemetery under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Mrs. Moster died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, in Gainesville.

She was born April 15, 1930, in Lindsay.

Survivors include her children, Bill Moster, Wayne Moster and Brenda Block of Lindsay and Ruth Hellinger of Gainesville; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

ROXIE WOOTEN

Graveside services for Roxie Wooten, 99, of Gainesville, are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Huffman officiating. Services are under the direction of Meador-Clement-Keel Funeral Home.  

Mrs. Wooten died Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at Pecan Tree Health and Rehab Center.

She was born Jan. 11, 1913, in Era.

DELBERT JACKSON SMITH

VALLEY VIEW — Delbert Jackson Smith, 79, of Valley View, passed away at his residence on Monday, Oct. 15, 2012.  

Delbert was born Oct. 5, 1933, to Lewis Jackson Smith and Stella Daisy Ballenger Smith in Beelick Knob, West Va.

Delbert served his country as a United States Marine and earned a master’s degree in biology.  He worked as an educator in the Alaska school system, serving as a school superintendent for 40 years.  Delbert married Jackie W. Warren on Aug. 10, 1999, in Bentonville, Ark.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at the Tioga Cemetery in Tioga.

Delbert is survived by his wife, Jackie of Valley View; two stepsons, Robert Warren McCulloch of Sunset, La., and John Warren McCulloch of Plano; one stepdaughter, Meredith Starboard of Valley View; and one sister, Carol Gwinn of Hambalton, West Va.

Funeral services are under the direction of Terri Slay and Slay Memorial Funeral Center in Aubrey.
