Gainesville — JAMES ADRIAN BOAZ

Funeral services for James Adrian Boaz, 81, of Gainesville, are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with the Revs. Hubert Wright and Larry Kremling officiating. 

Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends on Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Boaz was born Oct. 10, 1931, in Grayson County to Adrian Thomas and Lucille Ophelia Boaz.

He passed away Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, in Gainesville.

James married Carma Mckee on Nov. 12, 1950. Mr. Boaz served honorably in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War.  He was a long-time employee for Harper Oil where he was a welder in the oil field.  Mr. Boaz also served as a deacon at Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include wife, Carma Boaz; daughter, Debbie Weaver and husband Keith; son, Jim Boaz; son, Tom Boaz and wife Wilma; son, Tim Boaz and wife Pam; daughter, Kim Ward and husband Tracy; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Boaz is also survived by sister, Vickie; brother, Larry; aunts, Lois Livingston and Jewel Boaz; sister-in-law, Donna Samek; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Paul Boaz.

Mr. Boaz’s grandsons will be serving as pallbearers.

RALPH EDMOND BURT

Ralph Edmond Burt went to be with the Lord early Tuesday morning, Aug. 6, 2013.

He was born in New Orleans, La., on Dec. 12, 1925, to Harry Robinson Burt and Eloise Hanlon Burt.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, and was a retired bond underwriter for Aetna Insurance.

Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., Baton Rouge, La., on Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, from 11 a.m. until the funeral service at 1:30 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Carol Civils.

Interment with military honors will follow at Louisiana National Cemetery in Zachary, La.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tristan Layne Roberts, Max Earl Allen, Forrest Shad Roberts, Lawrence John Paulsen, James Robert Jeansonne and Dr. Alfred Gene Stevens.

Honorary pallbearers are Russell Todd Roberts and Steve Knox.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Janelle “Jan” Burt; his daughter, Brenda Burt Roberts and her husband Gregory Warren Roberts; his son, David James Burt and his wife Karen Lynn Burt; and his grandchildren, Kimberly Ann Burt, Megan Diane Burt, Chelsea Ann Roberts, Paige Leslie Roberts and Tristan Layne Roberts and his wife Molly Dart Roberts.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and by his brother, Harry Robinson Burt, Jr.

Mr. Burt was a member of Lake Kiowa Kiwanis Club, Volunteer Ministries of Whaley United Methodist Church in Gainesville and was a lay leader for the Texoma Walk to Emmaus. He enjoyed traveling, loved to golf, hunt and fish and collected duck decoys.

DAVID JOHN BICSAK

NOCONA — Funeral services for David John Bicsak, 59, of Nocona, are set for 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, at Bethel Baptist Church in Nocona with the Rev. Dale Berry and Rev. Scott Hamilton officiating under the direction of Jerry Woods Funeral Home.

Mr. Bicsak died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, in Nocona.

He was born Jan. 24, 1954, in Trenton, Mich.

Survivors include wife, Jan Biscak of Nocona; son, Keith Bicsak of Denton; and brother, Bill Bicsak.

GENEVA WOLFE COLLINS

Graveside services for Geneva Wolfe Collins, 87, of Gainesville, are set for 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, at Bethany Cemetery in Bethany, Okla.

Mrs. Collins died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, in Gainesville.

She was born Sept. 24, 1925, in Maysville, Okla.

Survivors include daughter, Dolores McGuire of Ardmore, Okla.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
