PAULA MAE BISHOP

Paula Mae Bishop, 63, passed away Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, while in an Arlington hospital.

A celebration of life is set for 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at Mansfield Funeral Home in Mansfield.

Paula was born Aug. 21, 1949, in Gainesville to Paul and Selma Smith.

She grew up in Gainesville and graduated from Gainesville High School. She moved to Arlington in November to be closer to her family. Paula worked for Zachry Construction for more than 15 years. She enjoyed drawing, crafting, reading and country dancing. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include daughter, Misty Stevenson and her husband Bryan of Arlington; sons, Wade Bishop of Fort Worth and James Bishop of Arlington; grandchildren, Angela, Jordon, Austin and Victoria Aguilar, all of Arlington, and Maya Church and Bella Mae Bishop of Fort Worth; brother, Jimmy Lee Smith of Gainesville; sisters, Frances Covington and Deloris Smith, both of Gainesville, Bonnie King of Irving, and Modell Stansill of Arlington.

MARY ALYCE KEMP

Mary Alyce Kemp was born July 2, 1945, in Denton County.  

She died Sept. 27, 2012, in Gainesville at the age of 67.

Her parents were Albert Harvey and Mary M. Howard. They preceded her in death.  She also was preceded in death by her daughter, Marissa D'An Eldridge; and her brother, Richard Harvey.

On Aug. 26, 1966, she was married to John Kemp in Denton. There are three sons, John David, Christopher and Robert Neil; and one sister; Alyne Pruitt; and 10 grandchildren.

There will be a visitation at Coker Funeral Home on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m.  

A memorial service will be held Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at 10 a.m. at the Shady Shores Baptist Church in Shady Shores. The Rev. Bob Joyce will be officiating the services.                                 ADV.





PAULINE KIRK REX

Pauline Kirk Rex, 88, of Gainesville, passed away Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at her residence.  

She was born to David Morgan and Lucy Edna (Maddon) Kirk on July 13, 1924, in Foreman, Ark.  

On June 5, 1944, Pauline and Joseph Henry Rex were married in Tipton, Okla. Mrs. Rex had worked at Texas Instruments as a tool crib attendant for 14 years.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed embroidering and working in her garden.  

Pauline was a member of Harvey Street Baptist Church where services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012. The Rev. Jordon Johnson, church pastor, will officiate.  

Burial will follow in Leon, Okla., at Leon Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers.

She is survived by daughters, Beverly Jo Thorn of Southmayd and Patricia Aiello of Lewisville; son, Gary Morgan Rex of Gainesville; sister, Lawanda Hume of Marietta, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.  

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers; and two sisters.

Visitation was Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at Meador-Clement-Keel Funeral Home.

Services are under the direction of Meador-Clement-Keel Funeral Home.

ALFRED J. BAYER

MUENSTER — Funeral services for Alfred J. Bayer, 87, of Muenster, are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Ken Robinson officiating.

Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.

Mr. Bayer died Sept. 30, 2012, at Muenster Memorial Hospital.

He was born Dec. 25, 1924, in Muenster.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Marie Bayer of Muenster; children, Mary Roberts, Joe David Bayer, Melvin Bayer, Paul Bayer, Larry Bayer, Leon Bayer and Michael Bayer; siblings, Ethel Mae Hesse and Arthur Bayer; 26 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A rosary/vigil is set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at Sacred Heart Church.

Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Trust Fund.
