DORIS ROSSON
Funeral services for Doris Rosson, 89, of Gainesville are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Chapel with the Rev. Frank Lorne and the Rev. Don Yeager officiating.
Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.
Mrs. Rosson died Sept. 2, 2012, in Gainesville.
Mrs. Rosson was born Dec. 9, 1922, in Whitesboro to W.G. and Lela Dozier.
“Nonnie” was happily married for over 70 years and was a longtime organist and member of Whaley United Methodist Church in Gainesville. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.
Survivors include husband, Guy Rosson of Gainesville; son, Nicky Rosson and wife Bonnie of Austin; daughter, Connie Hoberer and husband Larry of Gainesville; grandchildren, Christy Rosson O’Dell, Cindy Rosson Hollandsworth, Brady Hoberer, Ryan Hoberer and Gregory Rosson; great-grandchildren, Landon O’Dell, Makenzie Hollandsworth, Blake Hollandsworth, Jolie Hoberer and Race Hoberer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Vera Usery; and brother, Weldon Dozier.
Visitation was held 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

OSCAR SUTTON
CARTWRIGHT, OKLA. — Oscar M. Sutton, age 86, entered into eternal life Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at Clyde W. Cosper State Veteran Home in Bonham.
Mr. Sutton was born July 19, 1926, in Gainesville, the son of Richard and Laura Annie (Bohanon) Sutton. Oscar served his country proudly in the U.S. Army and Merchant Marines during World War II. He later retired from Chevron after 32 years of service. Oscar was of unselfish and dedicated service to others in many aspects. He was Commander of VFW Post #2773 in Denison for 17 years, Sivells Bend community leader of Farm & Ranch Club, 4H Club, March of Dimes, Bonham VA (Sam Rayburn) Hospital Volunteer for 35 years, Gainesville Riding Club and was a church deacon. He will always be remembered for his kind, loving nature and deep sense of compassion.
Mr. Sutton is survived by his beloved family: wife, Margie Sutton of Cartwright, Okla., daughters, Sunny Oliver and husband Phil of Arlington and Connie Whitcomb of Mary Esthers, Fla.; sons, Mike Sutton and wife Elaine of Southmayd and Richard Sutton of Cartwright, Okla.; stepson, Bobby Champion and wife Doty of Pasa Robles, Calif.; stepdaughters, Lanell Hughes and husband Mike of Lebanon, Ohio, Beverly Talbott and husband Jon of Pottsboro, Sheila Abbott of Sherman and Donna House and husband Bud of Sherman; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Oscar was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lawrence Sutton and Clarence Sutton; and sister, Addie Milligan.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Bobby Hancock officiating.
Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville.
Family visitation was Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, at Fisher Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Neal Winn, Don Denges, Terry Whitcomb, Bud House, Doug Brown and Paul Richards.

BILLY FATE BARNETT
Billy Fate Barnett, 76, of Gainesville, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2012, in Dallas at Medical City Hospital.
He was born Sept. 22, 1936, in Beaumont to J.B. and Tera (Baughman) Barnett.
Billy served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1958, and graduated from the University of North Texas in 1962. He married Minerva Jane Locke on June 6, 1964. He worked for the Federal Reserve Bank, Zale Corporation and Excell Communications. After retirement he returned to his hometown of Gainesville, where he served as a deacon at the Commerce Street Church of Christ.
Services for Mr. Barnett will be at the Commerce Street Church of Christ at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, with David Gray officiating.
Pallbearers are Jason Andrew Knee, Pat Barnett, Gene Brown, Harold Wells, Jim Carter and Ted Magnum. Honorary bearers will be Art Anglin, Hank Hankins, Pat Sharp, George Ware and Steve Ward.
Interment will be at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, 2012.
Billy Fate Barnett is survived by his wife, Jane Barnett of Gainesville; son, Gregory Craig Barnett and wife Teri of San Antonio; brother, Jack Barnett of Pittsburg, Kan.; grandsons, Gage Adel Barnett and Chase Andrew Barnett; and nephews, Jason Andrew Knee, Jim Barnett and Pat Barnett.

FRANCES M. GUTHRIE
DENTON — Frances M. Guthrie, age 89, of Denton, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012.
She was born on Dec. 14, 1922, in Pilot Point to Albert and Cecilia Boerner Fischer. She married Clarie Guthrie on Aug. 5, 1946, in Pilot Point.
Rosary for Frances was Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, at 7 p.m. at the Huff/Slay Chapel in Pilot Point. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Pilot Point with the burial following. Father Flynn will officiate.
Surviviors include one son, Brian and Debbie Guthrie of Flower Mound; daughter, Cecilia Guthrie of Denton; grandchildren, Brian Joseph and wife Courtney Guthrie of Anna and Rachel Guthrie of Crestview, Fla.; great-grandchild, Nicklas Guthrie of Anna; and brother, Jerry Fischer of Grand Prairie.
Frances is preceded in death by husband, Clarie; infant son, Carl Guthrie; and brothers, Raymond, Benny, James and Billie Fischer.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials may be made to a Catholic charity of their choice.
Services are under the direction of Terri Slay and Huff/Slay Funeral Home in Pilot Point.
