O.E. BENTLEY
ERA — Funeral services for O. E. Bentley, 90, of Era, are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Black officiating.
Burial will follow in the Era Cemetery under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.
A visitation will be held at 1 p.m., preceding the funeral, at the funeral home.
Orville Elton Bentley was born on Sept. 19, 1922, on a farm near Era to Egbert and Grace Elizabeth Flock Bentley, and was raised by his grandparents Henry and Margaret Bentley.
He passed away on Dec. 10, 2012, at his residence in Era.
He attended school in Era and as a youth, played shortstop for the VFW baseball team. After serving in the Army as a SSgt in England, France, Belgium, and Germany during World War II, O. E. Bentley married Mildred Myers on Nov. 26, 1945, in Gainesville upon his return. He was a farmer his entire life. He also was a heavy equipment operator for the county and drove a truck for Gainesville Fuel for 35 years. He enjoyed playing many games of dominoes with the Era Domino Club and his family.
He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Rex and Marla Bentley of Era; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Debra Bentley of Era; grandchildren, Jeremiah Bentley and his wife Brandy of Austin, Brandy Parker and her husband Lance of Weatherford, Hope Tuell and her husband Todd of Aledo, Monica Bentley and Larry Wofford of Gainesville, Jessica Moore of Indianapolis, Ind., and Steffan Bentley of Austin. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Jackson Bentley, Luke Bentley, Madyson Parker, Briggs Parker, Grayson Tuell, Taylor Tuell and Eddy Wofford.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred Bentley in September of 2012; and his sisters, Ruby and Jewell.
Pallbearers will be Luke Myers, Mike Graves, Greg Selby, Michael Selby, Eugene Bentley, Edwin Knight and Al Smith. Honorary pallbearer will be Jerry Hudspeth.

PHYLLIS PROUD DeLANCEY
Funeral services for Phyllis Proud DeLancey, 69, of Gainesville, are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Chapel with Rev. Don Yeager officiating.
Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville.
Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.
Mrs. DeLancey departed this world on Dec. 9, 2012 in Gainesville.
She was born July 20, 1943, in Wilmington, Delaware, to Merriel and Florence Proud.
Phyllis graduated from John Dickinson High School in Wilmington in June 1961. Before her marriage, she worked for the Diamond State Telephone Co. in Wilmington, Delaware.
On March 8, 1963, she married James DeLancey at First Methodist Church in San Diego, Calif. They lived in several places while Jim served his country as a U.S. naval officer. They have two children and four grandchildren, the light of their “GG’s” life.
Phyllis was a member of First Methodist Church, North Texas Medical Center Auxiliary, Home Hospice and the Pi Zeta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi at the time of her death. While living at Lake Kiowa, she was a member of several clubs.
Phyllis loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends. She and Jim enjoyed traveling in their retirement. She loved walking the beach looking for sea glass.
She is survived by husband, James DeLancey of Gainesville; son, Mark DeLancey of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; daughter, Aimee Lane and husband Greg of Gainesville; and four loving grandchildren, Alie, DeLancey and Dawson Fogle, and Jordan Lane.
Mrs. DeLancey was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Janice Beal; and sister, Dorothy Halfen.
Pallbearers will be the husbands of Beta Sigma Phi.

DOROTHY LOUISE JAHN NELSON
Gainesville resident Dorothy Louise Jahn Nelson passed away Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at the age of 87.
Dorothy was born in Fort Worth on March 14, 1925, to Charles H. and Johnie Wilson Jahn.
She attended public school in Fort Worth, graduating from Amon Carter Riverside School. On Dec. 24, 1943, she married Bennie Mize Nelson. Dorothy spent most of her adult life in Fort Worth as a homemaker. In 1984, Dorothy and Bennie moved to Gainesville to be close to their daughter, Beverly, her husband, Jerry, and their two children, Chris and Clint. After moving to Gainesville, Dorothy was an involved member of Whaley United Methodist Church, where she was active in the Christian Thinkers Sunday School Class and proudly participated in the annual Chicken Spaghetti Supper. While in Gainesville, Dorothy worked alongside her husband in their janitorial service business and for the GISD as a “lunchroom lady.”
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; a sister; three infant grandsons; and her husband, Bennie.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Jerry Woodlock of Gainesville; grandsons, Chris Woodlock and Clint Woodlock and his wife, Lawana; and two great-granddaughters, Kylie Woodlock and Reagan Woodlock.
A private burial service for Mrs. Nelson will be held Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, in Fairview Cemetery with a 3 p.m. memorial service at Whaley United Methodist Church officiated by Dr. Charles L. Aaron, Jr.
Visitation will follow the service in the fellowship hall of the church.
Services are under the direction of Meador-Clement-Keel Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Pearl Wagner will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at Grace Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. David Morris, church pastor, and the Rev. Larry Huffman, pastor of senior adults at Temple Baptist Church, officiating.

Pearl Wagner, 87, of Gainesville, passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at Gainesville Health and Rehab Center.
She was born Oct. 23, 1925, to Omer and Hattie (Lockerby) Wilson in Dierks, Ark.
Pearl was a homemaker and member of Grace Friendship Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great and great-great-grandmother who loved quilting, crocheting and working puzzles.
Mrs. Wagner is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Jane Wagner of Sanger; granddaughters, Stephanie Richardson of Sanger and Staci James of Denton; great-grandchildren, Beth Epting and her husband Mitch of Sanger, Brian Richardson of Sanger and Molli James of Denton; and great-great-grandson, Kayden Epting of Sanger.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leroy Wagner; son, Roy Charles Wagner; and brothers and sisters.
