GHS students take 42 medals in UIL competition

The Gainesville High School Choir earned a total of 42 medals at the UIL Region 2 Solo & Ensemble Contest, hosted at GHS. 24 different choir members earned medals in solo competition and 22 medals were earned in ensembles.

“They are to be congratulated,” said GHS choir director Kevin Beall.

The 15 soloists qualifying for state are the most in recent Gainesville High School history. The state qualifying students will compete at Texas State University in San Marcos, May 30th. Students competing at the state level must all earn first divisions at the regional level.
