Church News 3-15

(Continued)

Westminster Presbyterian Church

All visitors and residents of Gainesville are cordially invited to worship the Lord Jesus at Westminster Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) each Sunday and Wednesday. WPC is a Conservative Evangelical Protestant Reformed church. Our worship service is very traditional using the ACTS form of worship: Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, and Supplication. Dress is always casual.

Sunday School is at 9:45 a.m. and our Worship Service is in the main sanctuary at 10:45 a.m. The Sunday Evening Worship is at 6 p.m. and Wednesday Bible study is at 7 p.m. Both meet in the Fellowship Hall. Choir rehearsals are held Sundays at 4 p.m. There will be no Men’s Breakfast and Bible Study this month. Priscilla Circle for women will meet in Mid-April. Both meet in Grace Fellowship Hall.

This Sunday, March 17, Pastor Darrell McIntyre’s sermon will be “Extent of the Atonement” based on John 10:1-18.

The Choir will sing “In The Garden” by Helen Mark Hayes. There will be a time of fellowship in Grace Hall before church.

The choir has begun rehearsing its Easter cantata. Please come sing with us. The choir rehearses at 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon in Grace Hall. Our organist and choir director is Peggy O’Neill and our song leader is Danny Lovelace.

Our e-mail is wpc@ntin.net; WEB page http;//www.wpcgtx.org and our church phone is 940-665-5164. Westminster Church is located at 315 E. Scott Street, on the corner of Scott and Denton Streets. There is a large parking lot behind the church.

Whaley United Methodist Church

What do we do when what we always have believed comes into conflict with what we experience in life?  The author of Psalm 73 left us a refreshingly honest account of his struggle with some physical illness.  That illness challenged his belief in the goodness and fairness of God.  He felt the gamut of emotions: anger, jealousy, despair.  He eventually finds his answer when he learns to trust God.  Join us this Sunday for "What Has God Done for Me Lately?"  As always our service will include excellent music...old and new.  The choir will sing the beautiful Lenten anthem "Behold the Shepherd."  "Kid Time" will be led by Susan Beall.
