Callisburg United Methodist Church

You are invited to attend the Callisburg United Methodist Church at 123 Oscar Cole Street in Callisburg, Texas.  Each Sunday morning our Sunday school begins at 10:00 a.m. and church services begin at 11:00 a.m.  The love of God will greet you at the door.


 Each Sunday afternoon Confirmation classes are held from 4 to 6 p.m.

Each Wednesday afternoon after school KFC is held in the Fellowship Hall

The Women’s Group began again on Wednesday, January 23rd at 6:00 p.m.

 A short Trustees Meeting will be held after church on Sunday, January 27.

First United Methodist Church

First United Methodist Church welcomes you to worship with us Sunday mornings at 8:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Sunday School for all ages begins at 9:45 a.m. We are located at 214 S. Denton Street. Childcare is available for ages 5 and under.

Our 8:30 worship is a little more relaxed but always includes beautiful music.  The 10:45 service is traditional and features hymns, organ, piano, and choir and also often includes music from our handbells, children’s and youth choirs. Children are welcome in worship and we include a Children’s Sermon at each service.  We offer Holy Communion on the first Sunday of the month.

Join us this Sunday, January 27, for worship at either 8:30 or 10:45 a.m. Ron DeDoes, Lay Leader will deliver his message titled, “Paul‚Ä’s Letter to First Church Gainesville,” based on Romans 12:1-8.

Our Sunday morning worship services will be moving into our Fellowship Center on Feb. 3 for the next several months while renovations are taking place in our historic sanctuary.  

We continue our annual tradition to thank our wonderful Second Time Around volunteers with an Appreciation Lunch to be held on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 11:30 at Sarah’s on the Square Those who have volunteered their time to Second Time Around during 2012 are invited to sign up on the sheet located in the store or to contact the church office.

Faith Lutheran Church

invites everyone to attend worship service on Sunday morning. The blended worship service will begin at 10:15 A.M. The sermon will be based on the Gospel of Luke 4: 16. Sunday School for children and youth and Bible Study for the adults will begin at 9:00 A.M. The Adult Bible Class will be led by John Morris, who will continue a study of the Minor Prophets. For those who wish to arrive at 8:45 a.m., coffee and fellowship will be shared. A nursery will be provided.

In Faith’s church family, Jan Herzog, Destiny Phillips and Jennifer Phillips will celebrate their birthdays this week. We ask special blessings on them.

On Wednesday, Jan. 30, the Ladies Bible Study group will meet at 9:30 A.M. to continue their study of the book of Corinthians. Choir practice will be at 5:30.

Grand Avenue Baptist Church

Friends and family gathered Sunday afternoon Jan. 20 for an ordination service for Kenneth White as deacon and Joshua Carpenter as minister of the gospel.

Marcia Porter opened the morning worship with prayer. We wished Randy Mask and Benny Strong’s youngest daughter a happy birthday.

Brother Bill Black’s sermon was from Proverbs 2:1-9.

We start Sunday morning at 9 a.m. with coffee and breakfast in the fellowship hal followed by Sunday school for all ages at 9:30 a.m. and morning worship at 10:40 a.m.

Evening service beginning a study of I Kings is at 6 p.m. in the little chapel with Maudell Baker playing the piano.

Wednesay Prayer Meeting and our youth get-togethers are at 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall.

GABC is in the 600 block of North Grand Avenue with off street parking and entrances on the east side on Clements Street.

Prairie Grove Baptist Church

We enjoyed the speakers, John and Pat Tefferitiler, the missionaries from Africa.  They spoke of their work on the mission field in Tanzania and Arusha. They go there on medical missions.

Our church mission group, Stewards of Christ, are gathering items to go back to New Mexico to the Navajo Indian reservation later this spring. The different mission teams are doing God's work in different areas.

Vilott Baptist Church

The whole world seems to be in turmoil right now. Now is the time to turn to the Lord and His Word for peace and guidance. Throughout His Word we learn that others have made the same mistakes in getting away from God and His teachings.

Vilott has the doors open and something available for all. Weekly ScheduleSunday morning starts with a fellowship meal at 9:30 a.m.

We sing praises unto the Lord and our Pastor Rick Isham brings God's message.Wednesday evening services begin with a meal at 6 p.m. At 7 p.m., the children and youth have a great time of Bible study and fun, and the adults have Bible study and prayer meetings. Thursday morning small groups start at 10 a.m. with Bible study followed by a meal. We have a men's breakfast on the first Saturday of the month at 8:00 a.m. and a musical jam session later that morning.

Whaley United Methodist Church

Continuing our theme of "New Beginnings" we will look at one of the most startling passages in the Bible: Ezekiel's vision of the "dry bones" in chapter 37.  Ezekiel's vision teaches us that no situation is beyond hope.  Join us this Sunday for "The Original Zombie Apocalypse."

Upcoming Event

The Whaley United Methodist Women will host its annual "Call to Prayer and Self-Denial Luncheon" Thursday, February 7th.  There will be a time of fellowship at 11:30 and the scant lunch of rice, beans, and cornbread will be served at noon followed by a program on a missionary woman given by Patsy Wilson.
