Denton — Calvary Baptist Church

 Ladies Christmas

Girls of all ages are invited to attend a Christmas Party on Friday, Dec. 7 at 6:30 pm. Each lady is asked to bring their favorite Christmas food and a donation for our Children's Christmas Fund. The party will be in fellowship hall of the church.

Custer City Baptist Church

Custer City Baptist church welcomes Pastor Randy Webb and his wife, Kim, who have recently moved into the parsonage to serve the church and the surrounding area. Services are held every Sunday with Sunday School at 10 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m. Everyone is welcome.

Faith Lutheran Church

Faith Lutheran Church invites everyone to join our worship service on Sunday morning. The traditional worship service will begin at 10:15 a.m. The sermon for the Second Sunday of Advent will be based on the Gospel of Luke 3: 1-14.

Sunday School for children and youth and Bible Study for the adults will begin at 9 a.m.

In Faith’s church family, Jacy Anna Steelman and Ron Tuggle will celebrate their birthdays this week. Dale and Pam Garrett will celebrate their wedding anniversary. We ask special blessings on them.

Christmas Celebration

Season of Joy

Our worship ministry will be presenting "Season of Joy" on Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. and Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. The "Season of Joy" presentation will feature choirs, soloists, and actors. Season of joy is a traditional celtic drama infused with modern and traditional music that will stir the hearts of all in attendance. This free event will celebrate the joy of this special Christmas season.

Be sure and put our annual Christmas Eve Eve Service on your calendars for Sunday, Dec. 23 at 6 p.m.



First Christian Church

First Christian Church is located at 401 N. Dixon in Gainesville. Sunday School for all ages starts at 9 a.m., with worship at 10 a.m. where we celebrate the Lord’s Supper with an open communion table each Sunday. This Sunday we will be doing "Lessons and Carols" with special music presented by the Chancel Choir, the Handbell Choir and other instrumentals.

ADVENT – ure

FCC is having an evening of ADVENT-ure on Sunday, Dec. 9 at 6 p.m. There will be several stations for children to make holiday crafts to take home to family and friends. A Christmas program will be presented by our kids.  Plus, a VIP from the North Pole is expected to make an appearance.

All committee reports are due at noon.

The Salvation Army Bell Ringers will be at Wal-Mart from 10 a.m.to 6 p.m. on Dec. 15.

First United Methodist Church

First United Methodist Church welcomes you to worship with us Sunday mornings at 8:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Sunday School for all ages begins at 9:45 a.m. We are located at 214 S. Denton Street. Childcare is available for ages 5 and under.

The vocal and handbell choirs of our church will present their fourth annual Festival of Christmas Music. The concert will feature all of our children’s, youth, and adult choirs, and followed by a beautiful reception with a very special visitor in the Fellowship Center. Grand Avenue Baptist Church

Welcome to Grand Ave. Baptist Church located in the 600 block of North Grand Ave.  Since no parking is allowed on Grand Ave. we have off-street paved parking and doors on the east side, on Clements Street.

Our Christmas program will be Sunday, Dec. 16.  Choir rehearsal, adults and children, will be 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday Dec. 8.  Children 9 and over will go to the Woolf Den for lunch.  Children 8 and under will have sandwiches at church.  There will be fun activities and games for all the children until 9 p.m.

The Children’s Church will have their Christmas party Dec. 23.

We wished Gary Boaz and Mary Friddell  a happy birthday.

At GABC we start Sunday morning at 9 a.m. with coffee and breakfast in the Fellowship Hall followed by Sunday School for all ages at 9:30 a.m. and Morning Worship at 10:40 a.m.  Evening Worship is at 6 p.m. in the little chapel.

Vilott Baptist Church

 'Tis the season for giving as everyone knows. There are so many opportunities to help people right now that are in the light.

Jesus Christ gave the largest gift of all; He gave Himself. We are celebrating His birth on earth this month. The entire world is aware of what this time should mean.

We will have a Christmas Eve Service at 5 p.m. Vilott will open the doors for all to come and worship and celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior.

The only change this month is the small group will not meet on Thursday mornings. They will resume meeting on Jan. 10. All other services remain the same.

We meet at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday morning for a family breakfast and Sunday School starts at 10 a.m. Our worship service will begin at 11 a.m.

Come join in and bring your family to church. Give a little of yourself serving the Lord.

We hope and pray that all will be safe during traveling time.

Whaley United Methodist Church

On this second Sunday of Advent our theme is "Childlike Joy."

Celebration Worship this Sunday will include the traditional Children's Pageant "Mary Had a Baby."  The service will feature excellent music old and new.  The Chancel Choir will sing “Who Would Send a Baby?”and Anna Hanna will lead "Kid Time."  Please join us.
