The Cooke County American League T-ball All-Stars defeated their counterpart from the National League 18-17 in the finals of the district T-ball tournament Tuesday.
With friends and family packed in the stands, and sitting in lawn chairs around the outfield fence, the American Stars took a hard fought victory.
The American stars will advance into the state T-ball tournament in July as the first place team from the district.
The National stars will also advance into the state tournament, as the second place team.
Both teams had to negotiate their way through the tournament that included a team from Pilot Point.
“There will be 12 to 16 teams in the state tournament,” Phillips Stockwell, T-ball official said Wednesday morning.
“I haven’t seen the bracket yet,”
The tournament is one of several that will be held in the next few days.
The nine and 10-year old tournament will be on July 27.
In softball action, several local teams are heading for the state tournament this weekend.
