Saint Jo rushes past Chillicothe

SAINT JO — The Saint Jo Panthers improved to 2-0 with a 74-28 whipping of Chillicothe Friday night in six-man action.

Saint Jo started the scoring with a 7-yard TD run by Brady Chadick. The extra point kick was missed, leaving the Panthers with a 6-0 lead.

Chillicothe tied the game on the ensuing kickoff as Cameron Tidmore had a 60-yard return to make it 6-6.

The Panthers went back on top 12-6 as Joey Lindenborn scored on a 5-yard run. But again, Chillicothe returned the kickoff for a score. Tidmore did it again, this time from 65 yards. Rico Vidaurri added the PAT kick to put the visitors ahead 13-12.

From there, it was all Saint Jo. Luke Chaffin had a 19-yard TD run and Richard James added the extra point kick to put the Panthers ahead 19-13. Ellingwood added a 22-yard TD run to make it 25-13. Lindenborn then had a 33-yard touchdown run and James added the PAT to make it 32-13. Ellingwood then scored on touchdown runs of 33, 33 and 13 yards as the Panthers pushed their lead to 52-13.

Tidmore again worked his magic with a 62-yard kickoff return for a touchdown to bring Chillicothe within 52-19.

Saint Jo got another 25-yard TD run from Lindeborn and a 3-yard TD run from Chaddick. Later, Shaden Clark had a 5-yard touchdown run and Chadick rounded out the Panther scoring with a 16-yard TD run.

Chadick rushed for 212 yards and scored three touchdowns for Saint Jo, while Ellingwood had 99 yards rushing and three scores, Lindenborn added 83 yards and three touchdowns and Chaffin had 48 yards and one TD.

Defensively, Chaffin had two interceptions and recovered a fubmle to go with six tackles. Clark added eight tackles and Chadick had 10.
