Area runners compete at State CC meet

ROUND ROCK — Area high school cross country runners fared well at the UIL State Cross Country Championships Saturday in Round Rock.

In Class A, the Lindsay girls placed third as a team , while the Muenster Lady Hornets finished tenth.

For Lindsay, Kelsey Hermes was eighth (12:11.05), Megan Caillier was ninth (12:11.65), Rose Hermes was 35th (12:52), Jessica Block was 53rd (13:20), Shirley Hess was 56th (13:23), Bethani Eberhart was 68th (13:44) and Jordan Fleitman was 82nd (14:10).

Kelsey Hermes and Megan Caillier were both named All-State by the Cross Country Coaches Association.

For Muenster, Emily Hellman was 26th (12:44), Leaha Smith was 45th (13:08), Michelle Henscheid was 78th (13:57), Shaina Felderhoff was 84th (14:10), Lana Heers was 86th (14:17), Kalyn Dangelmayr was 87th (14:19) and Armita Mehdipor was 99th (15:10).

One area boy ran at the State meet. Era’s Zach Denison placed 36th in the Class A race with a time of 18:07.
