Three area high school basketball teams are ranked in this week’s Texas Association of Basketball Coaches poll, and all three happen to be from Muenster.

The Sacred Heart Tigerettes are the No. 1 team in the state this week in the Girls Small Private Schools Division. The Tigerettes are 14-1 with their only loss coming to Leonard last Thursday at the Collinsville Classic.

In Girls Class A, the Muenster Lady Hornets are ranked No. 20. They started the season in the Top 10, but fell out of the poll after a slow start. Muenster is now 8-7 on the season and went 3-1 at the Hwy. 287 Tournament in Bowie this past weekend with their only loss coming to No. 1 ranked Sudan.

On the boys side, the Sacred Heart Tigers are the only local team to be ranked. The Tigers are No. 8 in the Boys Small Private Schools Division. They are 7-0 on the season and won the championship of the Collinsville Classic this past weekend. They face Valley View tonight at home.
