Area track athletes qualify for regionals

COLLINSVILLE — Several area high school track and field athletes will be moving on to the Class A Region III meet after outstanding performances at the Area track meet Wednesday in Collinsville.

The Area meet took the top four finishers from the District 17 and District 18 meets. The top four finishers in each event at the Area meet qualify for regionals.

Both the Lindsay boys and girls finished first in the team competition and will be sending the most participants to the regional meet, which will be held May 1-2 at Stephen F. Austin State University.

GIRLS

In the girls division, Lindsay was first with 166 points, Era was second with 112, Muenster was third with 78, Collinsville was eighth with 26 and Saint Jo was ninth with 22.

Here are the area girls that have qualified for regionals:

Lindsay

Megan Caillier was first in the 400 meter dash (1:00.90); Elizabeth Martin was first in the 300 meter hurdles (49.35); Bethani Eberhart was first in the 200 meter dash (26.75); Kelsey Hermes was first in the 1600 meter run (5:34.71) and first in the 3200 meter run (12:12.05); the 4x400 meter relay team of Bethani Eberhart, Kelsey Hermes, Rose Hermes and Megan Caillier placed first (4:15.39).

Cammi Neu was second in the discus (87-11); Kristin Martin was second in the 300 hurdles (50.41); Megan Caillier was second in the 800 meter run (2:24.54); Ashton Reynolds was second in the 100 meter dash (13.10); the 4x100 meter relay team of Asthon Reynolds, Jessica Block, Katie Nortman and Katie Arendt placed second (52.97); and the 4x200 meter relay team of Jessica Block, Bethani Eberhart, Alie Fogle and Katie Nortman placed second (1:53.01).

Kristin Martin was third in the high jump (4-8); Rose Hermes was third in the 400 (1:03.56); Rose Hermes was third in the 800 (2:28.97); Elizabeth Martin was third in the 100 meter hurdles (16.18).

Luncinda Krahl was fourth in the shot put (30-11 1/2); Kristin Martin was fourth in the 100 hurdles (16.70).

Era

Jacy Steelman was first in the long jump (16-10 1/2) and first in the triple jump (34-1/2); Leah Doughty was first in the pole vault (7-6); Casey Hudson was first in the 100 (12.56); the 4x200 relay team of Julia Rust, Casey Hudson, Jacy Steelman and Leah Doughty placed first; the 4x100 relay team of Julia Rust, Casey Hudson, Jacy Steelman and Leah Doughty placed first (53.04).

Dana Schumacher was second in the pole vault (7-6).

Shae Knabe was third in the pole vault (7-0); Leah Doughty was third in the 200 (27.50).

Carlee Black was fourth in the 300 hurdles (51.21); the 4x400 relay team of Courtney Seay, Dana Schumacherm Julia Rust and Carlee Black placed fourth (4:33.64).

Muenster

Shaina Felderhoff was first in the high jump (4-10).

Michelle Henscheid was second in the high jump (4-10); Emily Hellman was second in the 1600 (5:41.42).

Taylor Klement was third in the shot put (32-0); Demi Koelzer was third in the 100 (13.21).

Taylor Klement was fourth in the discus (85-5); Demi Koelzer was fourth in the long jump (15-4 1/2); Michelle Henscheid was fourth in the triple jump (31-5 1/2); Demi Koelzer was fourth in the 200 (27.89); Leaha Smith was fourth in the 1600 (6:22.46) and the 3200 (13:52.93); Emily Hellman was fourth in the 800 (2:30.35); the 4x100 relay team of Michelle Henscheid, Samantha Endres, Jackie Klement and Delana Sicking placed fourth (54.46).

Collinsville

The 4x400 relay team of Amanda Adams, Kaila Delka, Haley Teel and Chelsea Petska placed second (4:24.34).

The 4x200 relay team of Amanda Adams, Kaila Delka, Candace Marlin and Chelsea Petska placed fourth (1:54.36).



BOYS

In the boys division, Lindsay was first with 106 points, Era was second with 100, Collinsville was fourth with 82, Muenster was sixth with 44 and Saint Jo was ninth with 20.

Here are the area boys that have qualified for regionals:

Lindsay

Ross Jones was first in the high jump (6-0); Nick Bezner was first in the 400 meter dash (51.71); Ryan Haverkamp was first in the 300 meter hurdles (41.05);

Ryan Haverkamp was second in the triple jump (39-8); Casey Shauf was second in the shot put (38-10 1/2); Matt Dieter was second in the 3200 meter run (11:23.08); the 4x200 meter relay team placed second (1:36.78).

Matt Dieter was third in the 1600 meter run (5:05.25); Nick Bezner was third in the 110 meter hurdles (16.42); the 4x400 meter relay team placed third (3:33.73).

Ryan Haverkamp was fourth in the long jump (19-7 1/2); the 4x100 meter relay team placed fourth (45.75).

Era

Daniel Kirby was first in the pole vault (14-0); Zach Denison was first in the 1600 (5:02.96) and the 3200 (11:13.33); the 4x200 relay team of Nick Seay, R.J. Metzler, Daniel Kirby and Trey Dunn placed first (1:31.54).

The 4x400 relay team of Nick Seay, R.J. Metzler, Daniel Kirby and Trey Dunn placed second (3:30.91); the 4x100 relay team of Nick Seay, R.J. Metzler, James Rust and Trey Dunn placed second (43.81).

Tim Whitlock was third in the 300 hurdles (42.54).

Jace Sutton was fourth in the pole vault (10-6) and the 300 hurdles (43.46); Tim Whitlock was fourth in the 100 (11.43).

Collinsville

The 4x400 relay team of Scott Ragsdale, Mitch Lawdermilk, Ethan Williams and Chris Carney placed first (3:28.03); the 4x100 relay team of Chris Carney, Mitch Lawdermilk, David Byrom and Coby Ragsdale placed first (43.81).

Coby Ragsdale was second in the 200 (22.52); Matt McAden was second in the 1600 (5:04.37); Cory Ragsdale was second in the 110 hurdles (16.32).

Coby Ragsdale was third in the long jump (19-9); Brett Simmons was third in the pole vault (12-0); Matt McAden was third in the 3200 (11:43.99).

Muenster

Jeremy Lutkenhaus was first in the shot put (40-1 1/2); Eric Hellman was first in the 110 hurdles (15.70).

Jeremy Lutkenhaus was second in the discus (128-2); Alex York was second in the pole vault (13-6).

Matt Flusche was fourth in the discus (115-0).
