A pair of Callisburg Lady Cats were named to the first team when the 10-2A All-District softball team was announced Monday.
Sophomore Taylor Ramsey and junior Sara Richardson were both named first team All-District for their outstanding play this season.
Ramsey had 12 victories in the pitching circle with a 2.74 ERA. She had 195 strikeouts and just 33 walks in 158 innings pitched. At the plate, she batted .402 with three doubles, one triple, two home runs and 25 RBIs.
Richardson was solid both in centerfield and at the plate. She had a .348 batting average with one double, two triples and 7 RBIs. She scored 34 runs and had 10 stolen bases.
Area players named second team All-District included junior Liz Puckett and freshman Lydia Hardcastle of Callisburg, and junior Morgan Borneld of Valley View.
Honorable mention selections from Callisburg included Hannah Weaver and Britni Shaffer. Making honorable mention from Valley View were Carley Calhoun, Whitney Yosten and Stormy Seese.
S&S; Consolidated senior pitcher Angela White was named Most Valuable Player. White led the Lady Rams to the regional championship game where they fell to Brock. She only allowed three runs (two earned) all season.
